Niamh

Just found out I'm having a girl, I plan on using the name Niamh but when I was pregnant with my DS and people asked what name I would've used if he was a she and I told them 'Niamh' I was greeted with the usual "oh no" or the screwing up of faces which meant they thought it was crap .

Niamh is a gorgeous name I love it :)

I have a Niamh! Love it and hear nothing but positive comments about it. No problems with the spelling. Go for it and don't tell anyone the name until after the birth!

Niamh was a woman in an Irish legend - Niamh Cinn Oir - who came from Tir na nOg - the land of the young - where people never grew old. Nice name

I wasn't sure if it was a unisex irish name tbh. I guess not! Its a pretty name though I' m sure it will be character building for him.....

Don't discuss names with others as people can be very picky and fussy about your choices. Just announce the baby after the birth.
