Frederick (Freddie) or Harrison?

Surname is a common one syllable name starting with B.
I prefer Freddie.
DP prefers Harrison.
DP likes Freddie but dislikes Frederick.
I like Frederick/Freddie/Harrison but not Harri which i believe will eventually get shortened to...
I dont want a particulary popular name but also dont want the name to cause any grief for my son!

Vote please!

Harrison

Onesleeptillwembley · 03/07/2013 22:40

Not Harrison, it's just so common. You have two completely different choices there.

lowercase · 03/07/2013 22:44

Frederick, means peace ruler iirc.
Proper name!

Harrison is son of Harris

littlepeas · 03/07/2013 22:45

I know brothers with these names! Prefer Freddie myself.

Mintyy · 03/07/2013 22:46

Love Freddie, but not too keen on Harrison I'm afraid.

scarlettsmummy2 · 03/07/2013 22:49

Freddie for me Smile

I have a delightful Freddy, 3.5, Sunday name Frederick but commonly called Fred, Freds, Fredstar and even Frederico!! He has big sisters and they've been inventive with his name!! Fred really suits him and can be used when he grows older.

HTH Grin

Ps when we choose his name it was a little more rare than it is now, Freddie pops up on CBeebies cards almost daily!!

I still absolutely love it though...

BikeRunSki · 04/07/2013 13:59

Frederick. I know one known as Ricky.

night1971 · 04/07/2013 14:03

Such different names. Prefer Frederick.

pinkpiggy · 04/07/2013 14:04

Much prefer Harrison over Freddie. We know so many Freddies and I see Harrison as a strong name for a child and an adult

diamondsneezer · 04/07/2013 14:06

Freddie. I like Frederick too.

pinkpiggy · 04/07/2013 14:06

And Harrison does not always get shortened to Harri, I know a Harrison that has Harris as a shortened name

MrsHuxtable · 04/07/2013 23:44

Frederick

rockybalboa · 04/07/2013 23:48

If you don't want a particular popular name then I would abandon both Freddie and Harrison (which would turn into Harry)

lessonsintightropes · 04/07/2013 23:59

Freddie much nicer than Harrison imvho.

Leeds2 · 05/07/2013 00:29

I would choose Freddie/Frederick over Harrison any day.

Allalonenow · 05/07/2013 00:59

Frederick is so much nicer than Harrison.

Blanketsandpillows · 05/07/2013 16:22

Freddie!

sparkle12mar08 · 05/07/2013 17:03

Neither. Both are boringly twee and grossly over done, Harrison in particular. There must be something better that you both agree on?

RoooneyMara · 05/07/2013 17:16

Could you call him wilfred, or alfred or something instead of frederick?

nemno · 05/07/2013 17:17

Frederick
