Sid and Dorothy are my favourites.

polkadotsrock · 30/06/2013 19:31

Travis doesn't sound quite right to me with your surname.
Lara is great and I think I like the name Erin enough to force it to go with any surname!

MortifiedAdams · 30/06/2013 19:46

Oh, our surname doesnt have a V in it, can see how that would sound odd. Its more Can........sh

My faves are Zac and Louis from you boys list; Liv and Nuala from your girl's (Liv and Nuala are in my Top 5 for girls :) )

MolotovCocktail · 30/06/2013 19:55

Love Nell, too (another personal fave)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/06/2013 19:56

Only like Max from the boys' list. Dislike Sid, Gus and Travis hugely, sorry.

Love Harriet and Evelyn and Elizabeth and Rebecca and like Jane as a mn. Hate Alex. Like Nell as a nn.

hatebeak · 30/06/2013 19:57

Sid and Louis are best from the boys, Dorothy and Beatrix best from the girls. Nell is okay and you can't go far wrong with the last three. I really don't like any of the other boys' names, and dislike Nia, Ria, Erin, Pippa and Lara. They all seem a bit insipid to me. I wouldn't go for Alex without it being Alexandra, either. Louis or Dorothy!

MortifiedAdams · 30/06/2013 20:50

Ooh Sid Louis and Dorothy doing the best so far!

Most of the boys names I would think of as nicknames. I'd go for Sidney (Sid) or Maximilian (Max).

Of the girls list I like Dorothy, Georgia, Ria and Rebecca.

Tickledyellow · 30/06/2013 22:19

Rebecca or Louis.

There sorted it for you! Just let Tickledyellow from Mumsnet choose! Lol x

Blanketsandpillows · 30/06/2013 22:21

Nuala, Dorothy, Beatrix and Evelyn-all have been on my short list! DH didn't like Beatrix/ce and thinks Nuala might be too old fashioned. But I love them all!

BartBaby · 30/06/2013 22:57

Id probably go for max, zac or travis from the boys list. Sid reminds me of an old bloke that my dad used to go down the pub with.

Off the girls i like erin, harriet or gorgia. Some of the others in my opinion sound like old lady names. Especially dorothy, evelyn, lilian and beatrix. I imagine them all sat together at the bingo. Would be ok as middle names though.

MortifiedAdams · 30/06/2013 23:00

Grin tickled

Bart DD1 has an old lady name (Meg), so hopefully a dd2with similar wouldnt seem too odd.
