What would girls with THESE names look like?

Wow I posted another thread asking what a girl with a specific name would look like, just to settle a debate with my DH. But I found the feedback so helpful, I wondered if you lovely ladies could do the same with our top 4 short list names - it might help me decide if one name in particular 'suits' what our child could look like...

So go for it, please....let your imaginations go to town and describe what girls with any/all of the names below would be like (hair, eyes, physique, personality etc):

I knew a little girl (8) called Aurora in the US she was one of 4 siblings all very happy and outgoing and in all the drama productions. She was also good at chess. Her parents were Anglo dad and Phillipino descent mum. So dark hair, eyes, olive complexion. Spunky and kind personality, love Aurora because of her.

I know an adult Aurora. Clever, opinionated (can be bossy and take over) kind hearted. Dark hair and eyes.

I also knew a Juliette with strawberry blonde/red hair, pale skin. She was very kind but also quite insecure.

On the other hand Juliet Stevenson is a very talented and assertive actress, I think she is a natural dark blonde? Her intelligence radiates from her.

Really interesting so far - please keep them coming & at the end I'll update everyone with which 'descriptions'/name would best suit our Bump...DH & I have quite a distinctive look (colouring etc) so there is a high likelihood of certain characteristics!

Mmm, I'm another who can only conjure up images of the Disney princess aurora! It is a lovely name though, and I'm sure it would be only associated with your dd to those that know her, if you see what I mean.

Isolde is petite, dark haired, quiet and gentle.

Juliette is tall and willowy, possibly a redhead but could be dark too. Funny and a little bossy.

Emerald is a plump older lady in my mind, with brightly coloured clothes and big earrings! ( I've never met any in real life)

Yep the Juliette I knew was tall.

Aurora- slender, dark haired, pale complexion, graceful and happy
Isolde - tall and willowy with blonde hair, a bit stand-offish.
Juliette - petite with reddy blond hair and blue eyes, sweet but a bit meek and wet (I hunk Juliet sounds a much stronger name)
Emerald - dark skin and hair, greenish eyes, quite buxom, a bit sassy and can be a bit of a show off

Aurora, tall, slim, dark hair and gorgeous looks/personality.

Isolde, blonde, chubby, plain, grumpy and standoffish

Juliete, tall, blonde, classically pretty but RL intimidating.

Emerald, short, dark halr, high opinion if herself and a bully.

I know a teenage Emerald. She has long dark hair, mature for her age, quiet and polite. A lovely girl. I don't know of anyone with the other names but I imagine a Juliette to be a bit of a drama queen and a "look at me" type of gal.

I'm finding this so so useful, think I'll print off and give to DH actually as there are definite front runners. Please keep them coming ladies, the more I get the closer I'm getting to picking our final name combination (& believe me, we've been trying to do that for months now!!!)

You want to know how these names are most likely to be perceived I guess? It affects my perceptions of the parents really. Children rarely turn out to be what their parents visualise when they choose furniture for the nursery. so, just to be clear here, it's parents I poke fun at with this.

Aurora - well, to play your game, I'm picturing a very plain child with serious parents. Musicians maybe. or and this is 50:50! a young mum who was without knowing it influenced by Disney. Siblings might be called after other barbies in the roller Barbie range, genevieve, Madison, kennedy. Perhaps an older daughter still in the princess phase was allowed to name Aurora. So in short, I can't tell anything about Aurora until I have met* Aurora! sorry! on a more pertinent note perhaps, it's a terribly ugly sound. All those Rs. Yakk.

*Isolde - this is to my taste. Reminds me of the sort of name that parents who send their child to the gaelscoils in Ireland would pick, trawling relentlessly through ancient scribes and legends and myths. Knowing the legends, able to answer cross word clues that pertain to the greek classics and ancient roman civilisations. in other words, educated people who like to let others know they are educated. But I do like it a lot. Isolde would be supported and encouraged through her education. She'd be privileged but not spoilt. She might learn mandarin because her parents have studied global economies and they know that's where we're headed.

*Juliette - Juliet is a favourite of mine so I want to sniff that you've ruined it spelling it the French way. I would peer down my snooty little nose at that! But it is lovely, the best choice on your list. I would just think Juliet's parents had very good taste in names. I would think they were confident in themselves and not using their child to send out a complicated message to the World.

Emerald - oh dear! this one is simultaneously boring and weird which is quite and achievement. I wonder if Emerald's parents felt some pressure to be different but really the sound they love is actually Emma*. Emerald is a lovely stone, and so is Jade. I prefer Emma, just Emma, but there is a strength to Emerald that is almost on the right track. If you like Zelda I would suggest that as it is lovely.

but seriously, you can never settle a debate with your husband about what your child will look like . Are you dark and you feel your name needs to suit a dark skinned child?

I feel I'm missing something here? obviously we all have our own perceptions based on our own experiences. The only Juliets I know are fair, but that doesn't mean that I can't imagine a dark girl called Juliet!

The only name that would make me pause is a name like Blanca, Bianca, Blanche, Fionnuala, Fiona

I know 3 of these

Isolde is rather Snow White looking, very pretty with pale skin and dark hair

Emerald is 8 months, Chinese

Juliette is 11, ethereal beauty, long brown hair and blue eyes

Aurora. Blonde or redhead. Aged 5-13. Solid build. A girly girl. Can be stubborn and bossy.

Isolde. Brunette with brown eyes and freckles. Average height/build. Aged 7-17. Parents are either rich or hippys. Either homeschool or independent schooled. Loves reading and writing.

Juliette. Aged 18-35. Brunette with dark complexion. Works in medical/healthcare/science. Thin and athletic build.

Emerald. Aged 10-18. Born to either very rich or poor hippy/immigrant parents. Beautiful and striking. Has a talent for singing performing arts.

Aurora - dark bob, slim, probably bookish
Isolde - ooh I love this name! Green eyes and wilowy.
Juliette - don't like this fussy spelling. Juliet could be a bit sturdy and spectacled - I have no idea why I think this though.
Emerald - dumpy and clumsy: not a good name to inflict on a child imho.

Just to clarify the Juliette spelling (not Juliet) - though with the very real danger that this will now bias any future responses from people! Our child will be half French (French father, surname, v strong French heritage & most family in France)

Won't reveal any more for time being :p thank you to all who have helped so far!

Also to clarify to those who have questioned...we're not debating what our child will look like, we're trying to pick which name is most 'us' out of a short list we've already settled on

Haha I liked your opinions zynia! Brutal honesty is what we're looking for to try and find the name we think will work best for us! We'd been over them so many times were starting to draw a blank with choosing....& this way seems much more helpful to our thought process than the standard 'do you like/not like these names' threads :)

Aurora - blonde hair, blue eyes, a bit dreamy.
Isolde - quite serious, a bit of a loner.
Juliette - dark haired, a bit dumpy, friendly, wears glasses - though that is pretty much a description of the Juliet I was friends with at primary school.
Emerald - sorry but this seems very PFB to me.
