UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 23/06/2013 10:57

I love it,also Nula and Fionnula Smile

PattieOfurniture · 23/06/2013 10:59

I prefer nuala
My great grans name was vona

PattieOfurniture · 23/06/2013 11:02

Sorry posted too soon,
I was going to add that vona is similar but it isn't really is it, apart from it ending with a, buduh!

MultumInParvo · 23/06/2013 11:04

Reminds me of the Barry white song just the way you are

SexAndDrugsAndSausageRolls · 23/06/2013 11:06

I know a little 3 year old Nola. Fionnuala/Nuala is really common here so Nola is just as nice and just a little bit different.

tapped · 23/06/2013 14:41

I'm glad that people seem to like it...Have had a few silent looks when i tell some people we are considering it I thought it was a bit of a marmite name!

Why that song multum?

Im called Nula and always get nice reactions to it if people do comment on it. Go for it Smile

squoosh · 23/06/2013 15:54

I don't like it, reminds me of the Nolans.

MolotovCocktail · 23/06/2013 19:12

I like it; am also a big fan of Lola and Nuala, so it's always going to appeal to me :)

ShabbyButNotChic · 23/06/2013 20:41

I used to work with a nuala and i always thought it was beautiful...not heard nola though but its pretty

hatebeak · 23/06/2013 21:42

It's the abbreviation for New Orleans, Louisiana. NOLA.

forevergreek · 23/06/2013 21:45

I like nova

wigglesrock · 23/06/2013 22:49

I know 2. I really like it, both are under 8.

tapped · 24/06/2013 11:16

I didn't think of the Nolans, doesn't put me off though the 'n' on the end of Nolan is enough to make it sound quite different from Nola. Nuala/Nula is also lovely but Nola just pips to the post for me :) Not sure about Nova, reminds me of Cassanova...
wow wiggles you know 2?! I've never heard it on anyone

Funny to me that someone would put the names Lola and Nuala in the same category. For me they're at completely different ends of the spectrum.

Lola, well she's a showgirl. She wears sequins and feathers.

Nuala spends her days saying decades of the rosary and lusting after the parish priest. She wears tweed skirts and a Miraculous medal.

ohcrappola · 24/06/2013 12:20

Ha! to me Lola / Nula are similar because of the way they sound. must admit the connotations don't jump out at me...both lovely sounding names :)

wigglesrock · 24/06/2013 13:01

tapped I'm in NI, not sure if it's more popular Smile . It's a lovely name, my daughter goes to school with one of them.

It's also the name of Scarlett Johanssons character in the film of Match Point. I've been on a few Nola threads recently Smile
