I love Dylan its my eldest ds name but i dont think it suits a girl.It would be too confusing and she would always be explaining. Not worth the hassle

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 22/06/2013 21:45

I like it as a girls name.

bugsybill · 23/06/2013 07:09

I like it but prefer it as a boys name.

For some reason I don't like any girl names that begin with D, just my opinion.

Also I think there are too many young boy Dylans around for it to be used by a girl, maybe in a few years when those boy Dylans grow up, there can be a new generation of girl Dylans as I suspect it will eventually become more of a girls name. Similarities with lyla, Lila, lily. Also Riley is becoming more of a girls name and it is very similar.

I know a gilt of six called Dillon spelt differently it gets shortened to dilly.

I like Dylan for a boy - Dylan Thomas and so on - but for a girl? No. There are so many lovely girl names to go for, why pick a boy's name for a girl?

beedles17 · 26/06/2013 21:54

dylan is a boy's name

LalyRawr · 26/06/2013 22:43

I love boys names as girls names.

I wanted to call DD Aiden, but OH vetoed it. I got Riley as the middle name though.

I like it.

As a side note, I love how MN is very gender neutral when it comes to toys (up in arms about a toy shop being split into boy and girl sections!) yet perfectly good names have to be discounted because they are boys names. Girls have to have a girls name.

I love it! My dd has a "boys" name so does my friends dd.

KLou1105 · 27/06/2013 15:33

I really like Dylan but prefer it for a boy x

Onetwo34 · 27/06/2013 15:47

I know a Dilani as well. Wonder if it is the same one. I like that. Don't really like Dylan for a girl though.

Rhubarbgarden · 27/06/2013 19:41

I don't like it.

wafflingworrier · 27/06/2013 19:48

i dont like it, sorry. i think its a boys name, not gender neutral eg something like francis

Elquota · 27/06/2013 20:42
