I'm not currently pg - just wondering what your thoughts are about Julian? I really like it, but no-one I know seems to! Generally, from who I've spoken to, the opinion is that it's effeminate, in the same way that Sebastian is (another boys name I love, incidentally!)

I love it (and Sebastian).

Jenda · 20/06/2013 01:01

Like Sebastian. Would expect a Julian to come out wearing a knitted jumper and a vague smile.Grin

I like it - I think of Julian the Roman emperor who was a philosopher and writer. It's an intelligent sounding name.

Don't like Julian but love Jolyon

MissPlumBroughtALadder · 20/06/2013 16:36

Love Julian and Jolyon.

squoosh · 20/06/2013 16:46

I always think Jolyon sounds like a euphemism for a hard on.

'He's got a jolly on'.

Huge apologies for lowering the tone!

I prefer julius to julian, but Jools is an awesome nickname, no strong feeling against it :)

Honsandrevels · 20/06/2013 17:10

I know a baby Julian and another with Julian as his middle name. I like it!

outtolunchagain · 20/06/2013 17:15

My brother is also a Julian , has a very outdoors job ,very sporty etc not remotely "wet"Shock

I don't think he is a big fan of the name but he's used to it!
