Well, as usual dh and I aren't agreeing on names and time is ticking away as am due in less than 2 weeks!! So I wondered what people thought of our consensed shortlist, and if anyone had any other suggestions that are along similar lines to these and go nicely with Lauren and Erin (although preferably avoiding another "en" ending!).
So far we have:
-Gabriella
-Annelise
-Ciara / Keira (prefer the irish spelling and have Irish heritage but have a hard to pronounce / spell surname so feel we should have a more standard first name or the poor love will have a really tough time!)
-Eva
-Imogen
-Francesca
Thanks everyone!

I like Gabriella, think a 3+ syllable name works well with your other girls' names. Wouldn't go for Imogen as its another that ends in 'n'. Would also suggest Saskia or Sophia.

MeDented · 14/06/2013 20:15

I like Imogen and think it sounds nice with the other two, plus I presume the 'n' ending goes well with your surname

Ooh and Meryl

I know an Irish Erin with a gorgeous sister Keira - lovely together!

BlueStarsAtNight · 14/06/2013 23:04

I think Imogen goes the best - having the 3 syllables instead of 2 makes it sound not too samey, but it blends nicely. I like Eva and Kiera, but the Gabrielle, anneliese and francesca are a lot more flowery sounding than Lauren and Erin, they don't seem the same 'types' of name at all and I don't think they'd go well.

stella1w · 14/06/2013 23:12

Imogen.. Why abandon a winning formula!

LadyStark · 14/06/2013 23:18

Don't know why but I instantly thought, Lauren, Erin and Jessica.

Quite like Lauren, Erin and Charlotte too.

bugsybill · 14/06/2013 23:20

I think Imogen, Eva and ciara go the best with the siblings names.

I don't see a problem with them all having a -n ending. But if you want to avoid then maybe:

Sarah
Georgia
Anna
Emma
Melanie
Tessa

Tara ties in. You've gone for quite similar names with lauren and erin so you need something that sounds a bit similar for the third name imo. when I say similar I mean two syllables and having an n, r or an l

Tara
Clara
Leila
Orla - this would really tie in well I think. Lauren, Erin and Orla. They sound equal to each other.

AnotherLovelyCupOfTea · 15/06/2013 19:40

that's funny, I thought of Meryl too but thought the op would never go for it!

Louziebuuz · 15/06/2013 20:40

Lol. I have to say I'm not feeling it with Meryl, you're right! There are some lovely other suggestions though. Dh is one of 9 so a lot of the ones i really like have already gone to nieces / close friends children. Will add Sophia, Charlotte and Anna.

Dh likes Brie/bree which works well as a nickname for gabriella...We both like Ciara but even I trip up pronouncing it when i see it written down so I think that is just not going to happen as we don't feel as strongly about it spelt 'Keira'. Would you agree that she will generally end up having to correct the pronounciation of Ciara given we live in the south east?!

BlueStars, it interesting what you say about Gabriella etc being very different. I think I do like the more flowery names but worry they are a bit too much, so have repeatedly gone for less 'fussy' first names and snuck them in as second names that they can use if they prefer in the future! Girls are actually Lauren Georgia and Erin Alexandra. I think with this dd, since she is our last one, I'm feeling more daring or more desperate (not sure which!)
