Thoughts on Susie?

I know 3 lovely Susies, both down to earth but terribly nice and wholesome. This makes me love the name and it's top of our list.
But is it a bit old fashioned, like a Sandra or a Jean?

I really like it, though I'd have Susannah on the bc so she has some more choices as she gets older.

Love Julia too. I also really like Jennifer.

Loving all the 70's names at the moment.

My sis is Susannah on her birth cert but is known by everyone, including at work, as Susie. Love it.

Susie is a great name.

We won't go down the "Sunday best" name route. I have a Sunday best name and to be honest it's a bloody pain asking people to use my shortened name when they use it after seeing it on a register/job application/medical notes etc. I have never used my proper name and neither have my family. I just don't see the point of having it.

Sorry, that sounds a bit ranty doesn't it! It's a bit of a bugbear of mine. Susanna is a lovely name btw, just not on our list!

I like Susie, but only as a nn for Susannah/Suzanne, not as a stand alone name. It is a little old fashioned, but old fashioned names are fashionable, so I'd not see that as a problem.
