Gorgeous!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2013 18:49

Lovely.

CruCru · 13/06/2013 18:51

Think it's my favourite girls name. Shame DH doesn't like it.

LineRunner · 13/06/2013 18:53

I think it's beautiful and 'Claudie' is a lovely nn for a baby.

TotallyEggFlipped · 13/06/2013 18:55

Nice name. Also like Claudine.

BreasticlesNTesticles · 13/06/2013 18:56

DD2 is Claudia (aged 2) and she goes by Claudi and Coco

evelynj · 13/06/2013 19:00

I like it but it doesn't matter how you want people to pronounce it-I think mostly it will just be dependent on their accent or experience. In my Norn iron accent it would be 'Clod-ia'

mumbaisapphire · 13/06/2013 20:53

I've got a 5 week old Claudia so I'm biased. I think it's a gorgeous name and suits a baby, young girl and woman. Go for it.

Bowlersarm · 13/06/2013 21:16

Ahh mumbaisapphire enjoy! The gorgeous Claudia I know is aged 10. She has made me biased in a good way about the name.

IsThisAGoodIdea · 13/06/2013 21:48

Love it, wondered how many posts in it would be before someone piped up its Latin meaning. Who cares?

LineRunner · 13/06/2013 21:50

And on every thread where someone pipes up its latin meaning, I always say that it's not even proven. It's a kind of myth about a myth.

phlebas · 13/06/2013 22:05

my dd is a bit of a history buff & loves the association with Claudius.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/06/2013 22:51

Love it

Slavetominidictator · 13/06/2013 23:01

I have a one year old Claudia. We call her Claudie at the moment. I'm really pleased we called her this - everyone can spell it but there aren't loads (yet). She refers to herself as Clau Clau.

Cornwall73 · 15/06/2013 19:36

Another vote for Claudia. We are keen on our history and the classics and when they are born in August our twins will be Alexander Michael and Claudia Jean Smile

MyNameIsLola · 15/06/2013 19:56

Gorgeous name, if go for it.

For me, I think of The Babysitter's Club and it makes me Smile a lot. I always wanted to be Claudia or Stacey!

Layl77 · 15/06/2013 20:21

Lovely name

FiddleDeeDees · 17/06/2013 13:35

Another one's who's biased because I have a one year old Claudia!

It's a name I absolutely adore - as others have said, it's strong but elegant, feminine without being frilly. It's also one of those names that everyone knows, but it isn't common IYSWIM - or at least I haven't encountered any others in our neck of the woods.

Haven't for a second regretted choosing it, or come across another name I like as much!

tammytoby · 17/06/2013 15:16

Given how many gorgeous names there are to choose from, I personally wouldn't choose one that is derived from the latin for 'disabled'/'lame'.

arabesque · 17/06/2013 16:30

The latin meaning wouldn't bother me. I don't think most people would even consider it. I really like the name, feminine and not too unusual but not ubiquitous either.

FiddleDeeDees · 17/06/2013 17:11

The "meaning" didn't bother me either...I guess it might put some people off, but that just means fewer baby Claudias out there, which is all good...

tammytoby · 17/06/2013 21:35

If the meaning doesn't bother you and you don't think it will bother your daughter, then ignore my comments Smile.
