What are your thoughts? How would you pronounce it?
Would the fact that there are a few different pronunciations put you off using it?

If my DS was a DD it would have been her name, Emmy for short. Love it. Having another DS so still can't use it.

Emma-line, like Emmeline Harris in Anne of Green Gables.

I loved this but DH said no.

Mimi or Emmy for short.

Feminine but strong too. I remember when I was at school and older girl being called Emmeline and she was the epitome of glamour and beauty to me!

Emmeline is a Dutch name and you pronounce it emmeleene

bugsybill we like it because it's a bit different without being completely "out-there". Emily is just a little too popular for our tastes (although a perfectly lovely name!)
Ivanacake does your friend get very frustrated with the corrections and does she regret using the name? (I am trying to get my head around just how annoying it may be for her in the future IYSWIM as she will have to live with it).
Any further comments on the name v welcome and also suggestions on what else we might like! Thank you all Smile!

I would say Emm- eh- leen, rather than Emma-leen

So emphasis on em- eh not em-a
