Lucky escape - unfortunate name blunder, anyone realise too late?

Ds2 is Euan, we nearly spelt it Ewan.

He was just writing his name doing the flicky bits so that the U looked more like a W. He's not the only Euan in the class, so followed it with surname initial. Finger spaces need working on.....

I was quite shocked to see Ewank on his picture.

Anyone made a complete blunder and not realised until it was too late?

Yep, we didn't google our dd's name until she was a couple of years old. The photo's that come up are very very inappropriate and it does really worry me for when she's older Sad but then I guess you can never know if a name will end up being associated with something bad when you name your kids.

AllegraLilac · 11/06/2013 20:20

I know a boy whose initials/name is B J Dick. Terrible.

Redtractoryellowtractor · 11/06/2013 20:21

My son is a B J. Shrugs.

AllegraLilac · 11/06/2013 20:23

It was more the combination of blow job and dick I was pointing out. BJ is very very common.

loler · 11/06/2013 20:44

Dick is quite a tricky surname to work with!

Still giggle when I think of Shilloh Pitt.

I worked with a girl who said her parents were A & RS Hole - cheques often raised an eyebrow. No relation I believe but know of a Phyllis Hole she should never have married him

BeaWheesht · 11/06/2013 20:49

I hope your surname isn't king

FranKatzenjammer · 11/06/2013 20:49

OP I hope your surname isn't Kerr...

RustyBear · 11/06/2013 20:50

The mum in the next bed when I had DS was called Weall. She also had a baby boy, called Christopher. She told me she would have called a girl Catherine...

dontblameme · 12/06/2013 18:09

Kid you not, there was a Ewan Kerr in my high school! Shock

loler · 12/06/2013 19:30

His parents really should have talked to more people about the name they were thinking of! Poor child.

I suppose the moral of the story is to always google any name you are thinking of

LalyRawr · 12/06/2013 20:53

If my MIL had double barrelled her surname she would have been Mrs Blows-Hawes.

I still maintain she should have done it.

Though clearly I would not marry Oh or give his surname to our children Grin

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 12/06/2013 20:55

Minnie - please don't worry, if I google my name I'm a page 3 girl model (if only I had the body to go with it!!), a lawyer, a politician and an artist....

I'm not any of the above Grin

loler I'm sure it will catch up with DS when he's a teenager - no matter how you have spelt it, but don't worry, if it wasn't that it would have been something else!

pinkr · 12/06/2013 21:07
