Hello lovely people,

So our beautiful little girl arrived yesterday and she's looking like a little T but we can't decide between Tabitha or Tess, what do you prefer?

Thanks for your help!

I agree completely with that whenisdinnerready.

Happymum22 · 08/06/2013 12:36

Tess definitely.

sleepingbeautiful · 09/06/2013 10:38

Tess! Lovely name. Sadly too sibilant with our surname.
Not keen on Tabitha at all; a witch or a cat.

bootsycollins · 09/06/2013 11:04

Is baby girl Tess or Tabitha yet betsybo?

betsybo · 09/06/2013 21:31

We're still undecided! Urgh. She's snuggled up on me here now and every night we look at her and wonder what her name will be. It's been 5 days now so we really need to bite the bullet. I wished I'd decided before she was born as I think its much harder now trying to find a name to 'fit' how she looks. I feel so responsible!

It's so weird as it was very easy when we named DS1. He is Jude btw, perhaps that influences things?

Thank you all so much for your input!

We've also brought Isadora into the mix just to confuse things. So it's now Tess, Tabitha or Isadora.

I said to dh tonight that we should just have a bottle of wine and decide as its become a 'thing' now and we're kind of ignoring having to make the decision. She's just known as 'mini' at the moment! Maybe that will be it...

Jude and Tess sound great together!

Minty82 · 09/06/2013 21:43

You can't have Tess if you already have Jude!! Not unless you're MASSIVE Hardy fans! I was going to say that I prefer Tabitha anyway, gorgeous name, but that clinches it...
Huge congratulations on your lovely girl.

squoosh · 09/06/2013 21:48

Oh you can't have a Jude and a Tess! It's a bit Hardy themed, and things ended badly for both of them.

Go for Tabitha. Isadora is far too twirly, swirly, henna haired art teacher who wears lots of silk scarves and 'healing' crystals.

GW297 · 09/06/2013 22:44

As your son is Jude, definitely go for Tabitha!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 10/06/2013 11:27

Oooh a Hardy theme, very tempting, . Tabitha is lovely though.

FetaCheeny · 10/06/2013 13:52

Agree Tess and Jude is a bit Hardy, unless you don't mind that? You will get people mentioning it though. Isadora is now my favourite.

chlo13 · 17/06/2015 20:12

My friend's name is Tabitha, and I love it! She's funny and creative, and the name suits her well.

Billynoname · 17/06/2015 22:09

Tess definitely. Most people won't remotely make the literary connection. The only Tabitha I know gets shortened to Tabs which has to be up there with the most dreadful nicknames!!!! Not Isadora- the world has plenty an Izzy already! Tess is fab. Congratulations! X

Bjn765 · 17/06/2015 22:20

Tess! Keep us posted on what you choose.

Devora · 17/06/2015 22:28

Tess is lovely, way nicer than Tabitha.

scarletforya · 17/06/2015 22:32

Tess by a long way.

Indantherene · 17/06/2015 22:33

Um, this baby was born over 2 years ago. I expect she's got a name now.

ZOMBIE!!!!!

Devora · 17/06/2015 22:36
Grin
reuset · 18/06/2015 19:03

Chlo13 - it's 2015! What's with all the zombie thread resurrecting Grin

haleandhearty · 21/06/2015 22:44

Tess/Tessa is a gorgeous name and doesn't have the cat associations of Tabitha!

reuset · 21/06/2015 23:54

zombie thread

Mumsnet should keep the dead thread warning showing (with that nice zombie picture) even after it's revived

Ward3 · 22/06/2015 06:47

Tessa? Don't like Tess too much, but I think the -a really freshens it up
Know a quad named Tabitha, she's nice, but I don't really fancy the name
