Is this ok with our surname?

Theodore on birth certificate.

So everyday life would be:

Theo Lee
Ted Lee

Is that ok?

Its the only name we are both agreeing on but I'm worried about two short names.

Seems fine to me.

Theodore Lee sounds great for formal occasions. I think that both Ted and Theo are OK with Lee, the only one that perhaps sounds a bit odd is T. Lee, but you'd not usually actually say that out loud so it's probably not an issue in practice at all.

I didn't really think about nns and surnames together when I had my two, and on reflection might not have thought either sounded great, but it's really not a big deal unless it sounds very alliterative or silly.

Ted Lee sounds really cool.

Ken Lee, he'll be famous - theres a 'Ken Lee song' on YouTube.

Ted Lee sounds like he should be an American senator but I still like it. Theo is also really nice.

Personally I think a 2 syllable name is much nicer e.g.
Ethan Lee
Tristan Lee
Quentin Lee
Felix Lee
Oscar Lee

Ted Lee sounds like Tetley... too short imo.

OP - We share a surname. It ruled out so many of my favourite names, but Ted/Theo are OK. Ted flows better than Theo but Theo is do-able. If you both really like it, use it.

Oh jojo it is such a pain isn't it. Its meant I haven't been able to use my favourite girls name (Rosa) or my favourite boys name (Jude).

And its ruled so many others out.

Its only 3 letters but ever since marrying dh and falling pg I have grown to really dislike it!
