Thinking about L names now- I also love Lucile/Lucille!
Just to throw another variation into the mix Smile

Wishfulmakeupping · 27/05/2013 13:28

miffybun73 · 27/05/2013 13:30

Lucy.

Lucy

The only Lucie I know of in rl has a French mum.

CremeEggThief · 27/05/2013 13:38

I think you have very good reasons for going with Lucie. Go for it!

WeOnlyPlannedTheFirst · 27/05/2013 13:47

We were set on Lucie (Francophiles) then wimped out and went with Lucy on basis she'd always be spelling it.
I still think Lucie looks prettier plus I'm always having to spell my name and it's actually no big deal.

lovemybabyboy · 27/05/2013 19:21

Lucy, but if you want to spell it Lucie then go for it!

Gooseysgirl · 27/05/2013 20:46

Lucie, beautiful name

AllegraLilac · 27/05/2013 21:53

I've read Lucy/Lucie that many times its starting not to seem like a name at all!

Go with your gut instinct OP.

MsTimTam · 27/05/2013 21:54

I have a Lucy and when she was a newborn a few people asked me which way we were spelling it, I think if you love Lucie definitely go for it.

Plus3 · 27/05/2013 22:11

I have a Lucy but wanted to spell it Lucie. Was persuaded that she would spend her life spelling it, which given our surname would be a pain.

The name means 'light'. Regardless of how it is spelt, it is a lovely name.

forgetmenots · 27/05/2013 23:30

Lucie. Most people have to spell their names! :)

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 27/05/2013 23:33

Lucy.

Lucie, though Lucy is lovely too.

How is an 'ie' ending seen as odd? You can't move here without falling over a Katie, Gracie or Evie.

Joolzbee · 29/05/2013 13:20

I have a 'Lucie' and never questioned it. There are far more around than I initially thought. Yes, people do by default spell it with a -y ending but often they only need to be politely corrected once! Do what suits you - personally, I love the look of the -ie ending and always saw the -y diminutive as a tad boring. But, well, that's just my opinion!

Bonsoir · 29/05/2013 13:22

Lucie is much more chic than Lucy. Think Countess rather than chambermaid Wink

Lebkuchenlover · 30/05/2013 17:39

Lucy - more timeless and classic!
