Lucas....what does it make you think of? I have an Oliver already and need to find a name for my next ds. I think I prefer Lucas to Luke...what does everyone thinkSmile

Allways consider what his school friends will do to it....adding aid could be wearing. Luca is lovely too

TobyLerone · 19/05/2013 10:54

Rhymes with mucus. I hate Luke, too.

When I was at school, Luke was always the snotty kid who puked in assembly.

ReluctantlyBeingYoniMassaged · 19/05/2013 11:05

It was high on our list. I like it.

Yonididnaedaethat · 19/05/2013 11:16

I'm trying to persuade DH on using the name Luke or LucaSmile if its a boy I'm having but he's not keen on either.

FortyFacedFuckers · 19/05/2013 11:20

I love it it was on my list but I decided it was too popular for me.

OrlaKiely · 19/05/2013 11:22

I am really sorry, but it reminds me of worms.

FortyFacedFuckers · 19/05/2013 11:22

Sorry I didn't read the OP properly I love Lucas but I don't like Luke.

OrlaKiely · 19/05/2013 11:22

and what Tobes said. Sadly.

OrlaKiely · 19/05/2013 11:23

Sorry to be so horrible!!! You can still have James though Grin

deemented · 19/05/2013 11:27

Lucan i like, but not Lucas.

TobyLerone · 19/05/2013 11:51

I love James, though.

bananaramma · 19/05/2013 15:30

Since someone mentioned that Lucas rhymes with Mucous, that's all I think of now Blush. And Luke, I really don't like the sound of, sorry.

Acrackinthefabricoftime · 19/05/2013 17:08

I love Lucas. That gives maximum flexibility as he can still be called Luke.

ohnosnow · 19/05/2013 20:58

Lucas it's a cool name, I have a 15 year old one.

It reminds me of mucus and lupus, though I am definitely in the minority!

goingdownhill · 19/05/2013 21:42

I have a Lucas so obviously I love it. However out of my children he is the only one I would rename if I had the chance. Every time we go out there is always another Lucas. He is Lucas R at school because there is another in his class. I chose it when we lived out of the UK so did not realise how popular it is here. Smile

Lucas James.
Sounds lovely. Best of all worlds, get all the names you like, as can revert to Luke if you still hanker after it.

Don't worry about those who don't like Lucas. The names they've chosen themselves will be disliked by others too.

zipzap · 19/05/2013 22:15

I like lucas. Also like lucca. Not so keen on luke.

Would have problems having a james if I had an oliver already - too close to Jamie Oliver! And whilst I like his cookery shows, not sure I am ready to inadvertently honour him by effectively using his names for both my dc... Grin

BusyBee86 · 20/05/2013 03:37

Wow didn't realise I had lots more replies. Thank you all. After much discussion we have decided to go with.....James Smile
