Name for brother of Josiah

I'm expecting baby #2. We don't know if it's a boy or girl but we have a girl name sorted, we just can't think of anything we like for a boy. DS is called Josiah, so I guess we like names of that sort and obviously want it to go well with his name. Any suggestions please?

I should add, to be more helpful:

  1. We don't want any "J" names as dad is also a J so it's too much J
  2. We don't want anything too common, so no Samuel, Joshua, etc
  3. We also don't want anything TOO unusual - Josiah is about the right level, but I don't know what other names are like this!
  4. If it can be shortened to something that is a bonus - we love having lots of nicknames for Josiah

An example of a name I like is Raphael (I really like Rafi) but husband thinks it's a bit common, as we happen to know a few.

Thanks so much LeChatRouge! It is Jo-ZII-ah (zi rhyming with eye). We call him Joe and all kinds of other things!
Ezekiel is exactly the kind of name I mean but I just don't love it.... perhaps it will grow on me.
Zachary and Jacob I like a lot but think they are a bit too common - I know lots of these babies born in the last few years.
The other three I'm not so keen on but thanks for the ideas!

Bartlett.

Fans of The West Wing will get it :)

WestOfEden · 29/04/2013 16:11

I like Noah, Elijah and Isaac. On the list! The others not so much..

MTSgroupie for that reason we can't have Leo or Toby, everyone already thinks we named our son after Bartlett!

I think I have similar tastes in names. I have a Zachary, also like Josiah.

Other boys names I have since considered (but I had two dds!) are Caleb, Raphael (Rafi), Jonah, Joshua (prob too common for me), Elijah, Elliot, Leonard ...

I was wondering what the outcome of this baby name was?

I am in the same position, baby due and wanting a boys name to go with Josiah
