what do people think of the name Felix?

I too think Cat Food, sorry. Or the cartoon Felix the Cat! But perhaps you're not in the UK?

Spink · 01/05/2013 11:57

It is ds' middle name (sp feliks as it is after polish grandpa) so obv we love it Smile and the meaning is lovely.

chaya5738 · 01/05/2013 14:25

I LOVE it. Very quirky and cool.

But then we don't have cats so I don't associate it with the cat food. I do associate it with Felix the Cat - but in a good way - he is such a cool character and one of the first cartoons.

It also works in lots of languages.

And Felix Baumgartner is pretty cool and not at all cat-like (except maybe in having more than one life...)

tammytoby · 01/05/2013 14:27

I'm not that keen on the licks sound at the end. We also don't own a cat so no cat food associations here.

LadyMetroland · 01/05/2013 14:30

Great name. Ignore cat comments.

CruCru · 01/05/2013 16:36

I know a Felix. The parents wanted a names that can be used in the UK and Austria.

Sophiesmummie · 01/05/2013 16:57

Why ignore the cat comments, LadyMetro? The OP is asking for peoples' opinions and a lot of people do associate Felix with the cat food brand.

usualsuspect · 01/05/2013 17:00

I like it. I think it's a cool name. I wouldn't worry about the cat thing.

Salbertina · 01/05/2013 17:00

Love it

SneakyBiscuitEater · 01/05/2013 17:03

I like it. DS has two 'x' names and if DD1 or DD2 had been a boy Felix would have been one of the middle names used.

chaya5738 · 01/05/2013 19:55

I actually like the cat food association. It means it will never get as popular as, say, Max, which you can't move in a London playground without hearing.

mrsmindcontrol · 02/05/2013 10:54

I love it but I would as its DS1's name,

Btw diddl, I have a Felix & an Oscar!(and also a Charlie too)

BeanoNoir · 04/05/2013 07:29

I love an x in a name

UnderPuns · 04/05/2013 08:41

Love Felix!

juniper9 · 05/05/2013 20:32

I really like it but my surname starts with F so it's a no-go. It means lucky in Latin, which I think is sweet.

Sod the cat!
