Archie is such a good name and willl stand the test of time too, Archibald is perhaps a step too far.

Lol thank you for your advice and opinions, I have never seen balamory. I think Archie is winning at the moment

Tolliver- As long as no one says Edie Mcredie I think it will all be ok.

Love Spencer - it's on my list but I don't think my husband's convinced.

I like Archie but I have a definite preference for giving a child a "full" name that can then be shortened, but am not so keen on Archibald. Archer?

I think they both go with Jacob well :) Lots of little Archies around at the moment. My friend just had a Spencer and half of me thinks cool, half thinks hmmmm. It will depend on his character.

My nephew is called Archie, I shorted it to arch all the time when I speak to him or call for him, it's really odd people don't like names because "they aren't proper"

I do prefer archie to. There's lots of older generation men called Archie so it seems to be standing the test of time.:)

Out the two I prefer Spencer as there are so many Archies. There are 4 at my DS nursery, it's very confusing. I also heard one older boy gets called Archibald even though that is not his BC name.

I'd pick Spencer, just because its not as popular as Archie! Archie's seem to be everywhere at the moment...

But yes they are both Balamory characters. Archie is the inventor who lives in a pink house and wears a kilt and pink jumper and Spencer is a painter and lives in an orange house...youtube should enlighten you and probably put you off both names
