Straw poll: Do you prefer Elliot or Milo?

Please don't tell me if you hate them both, I would just really like to know which you prefer.

We only have a week left before we have to register our Ds, and for some reason, we just can't name him... We have whittled it down to these two!

Milo, one of my favourite names. Cool dude, unusual but not too way out.

TheChaoGoesMu · 22/04/2013 22:02

Milo. I love that name. Elliot is nice too, but Milo is my favourite.

Trill · 22/04/2013 22:11

Elliot

eachtigertires · 22/04/2013 23:21

Milo

pygmy · 23/04/2013 02:45

Milo

Madamecastafiore · 23/04/2013 02:48

DS 1 has middle name of Elliot. Couldn't use as first name as rhymes with siblings name.

DC2 if a boy when arrives will be Milo.

I don't think of twenties connection at all.

You wouldn't think of Bella as being a tweenie name or jake!

lottiegarbanzo · 23/04/2013 04:30

Milo by a mile.

I'm of the can't stand surnames as first names persuasion. I think Milo is really lovely and a distinctive sound, not easily confused.

Auntlinny · 23/04/2013 04:36

Elliot. Milo is the name of a sweet hot drink, not only in oz, but in nz too! A bit like using the name Cadbury

Gugglebum · 23/04/2013 04:50

Milo for me too. I love that you could use Miles as a nn, the same way a Lily is often Lils.

scarecrow22 · 23/04/2013 04:53

Milo.

gottogetup · 23/04/2013 07:33

Milo by mile(o)'s x

BlueStarsAtNight · 23/04/2013 08:09

Elliot. I like it better and sounds like it flows best with the middle name and surname syllables!

CPtart · 23/04/2013 08:14

Elliot

IBlameThePenguins · 23/04/2013 08:18

Sorry for coming back to the thread late, but thank you for your replies... Right, well it looks pretty even, which is nice. Reassures me that neither is considered universally ridiculous!... Still undecided though! I think I am leaning towards Elliot, & DH is leaning towards Milo!

I hate Elliott.

OrbisNonSufficit · 23/04/2013 08:47

Elliot. Milo is a chocolate drink...

IBlameThePenguins · 23/04/2013 08:47

Crikey bonsoir! Is there a reason, or that you just don't like the sound of it??

AtiaoftheJulii · 23/04/2013 08:57

Love Milo, but it really doesn't work with my kids' surname, lol.

I dislike Elliot too, just one of those names that gives me an irrational yuck reaction.

Bonsoir · 23/04/2013 09:53

Elliott sounds like a gay poodle. Awful.

williaminajetfighter · 23/04/2013 22:15

Love Elliot. Cutest little boy on the TV show 30something from the late 80s. Always fanciest it after that.

Milo is FAR too popular!

mummytomoo · 23/04/2013 22:22

Both are nice but I prefer Elliot. Good luck deciding!

barnet · 23/04/2013 22:26

Elliot

Jojay · 23/04/2013 22:26

Milo. I too don't like the surname as a first name thing.

And Eli is too feminine sounding to be a decent nickname...

Milo, definitely.

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 23/04/2013 22:39

Milo. Totally different 'kind' of names IMO.

IBlameThePenguins · 24/04/2013 21:15

Oh dear!... We have narrowed it down to a gay poodle or hot chocolate... Poor kid!

We.are still undecided, but have to register him next TuesdayShock

I think we will probably use the one we don't go for as another middle name!

Just out of interest, what 'kinds' of name do people think they are?... I realise I may ne over thinking this now!
