What do people think of Violet, Evie, or Vanessa?

I have always loved Violet but DH said it sounded like Violent! Hmm I disagree by the way. Evie....I know of three...in DDs school all aged between 4 and 6.

Vanessa...oddly dated...very 1980s.

Violet- ok. Know one, increasing in popularity.
Evie-awful. Wet, and extremely overused alongside all the Eva's, Ava's, Ella's etc, etc,
Vanessa-yes, definitely a name of the seventies. I know one of 38. Quite a pretty name though and maybe due a revival.

Wanted to call my DD2 Violet - but DP (and DD1) kept saying 'violet ... toilet' - wish I'd stuck to my guns (my turn to choose ...not sure about 'Vi' as a shortened form though - I thought 'Letty' would be quite sweet...
Evie - agree too many eva., avas etc..
Vanessa ok (although it reminds me of Vanessa Phelps (sp?) - as long as not shortened to ' Nessy' Hmm

Vanessa by a mile :)

I recently developed a soft spot for Marissa too - or maybe Lillian - not that I having any more!

Like Violet a lot and think Vanessa is due a revival.

I like all of them :)

Violet is lovely, pretty and underused.

Evie is very popular but still lovely in its own right or can be short for various longer names... Evelina, Genevieve and so on.

Vanessa is great, very nice name and I think it's due a comeback.
