Brother or Sister for Persephone

Hi, my daughter is called Persephone and we are looking for a boys or girls name to match it!!!!.

I've always loved the name Persephone, so try not to be too critical!!

All positive baby name thoughts welcomed as we can't think of much. I would like something beginning with O for some reason:

  • possibles so far: - Orpheus or Endymion for a boy
  • Appollonia (maybe??) for a girl

Cheers, Inca

How about Osiris for a boy?

thegreylady · 18/04/2013 19:18

I love Orlando for a boy or maybe Orpheus if you want to stay mythological. I do know one child called Ptolemy nn Tolly and that would work.
My choices for a girl would be Cassandra or Antigone I think.

I heard a woman shout Persephone & Dante across a playground in a certain part of N. London. Alexander goes too.

Bessie123 · 20/04/2013 01:22

Orpheus or Ptolemy??

Bessie123 · 20/04/2013 01:27

Hahaha Calypso. Endymion. Appollonia.

This thread is brilliant. Never heard so many stupid names. Sorry, I know I'm not being helpful but this is hilarious.

I did hear a man calling out to his son, Lysander, while i was paying for something in John Lewis earlier this year. I sniggered to myself at the ridiculous name then looked back to the shop assistant - she was sniggering at the stupid name too.

I like a lot of these names. Some caution though - Sappho is a damn difficult name for a girl to carry off. Lysander is the man who made husbands jealous.

Just curious what makes people so sure this thread is in jest?

At least it's nor Tiger and India, two children I served in a shop once.

sarahandemily · 21/04/2013 19:39

Grin at Kevin, Keith Sharon or Wendy

I grew up in Brighton. Names like this were fairly common.
