Brother For Ludo

I'm after inspiration!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with DS2 and totally stuck for a name.

I'd like to go a little more classic this time but still avoid being one of several in his class.

Ludo and ....?

I love Jago but I think Ludo and Jago are just too matchy-matchy

Leslieannelevine · 16/04/2013 12:29

But just for the record I still love the name Ludo

Yorke or Hector
I've come across an american called Yorke before, and Ludo and Hector sound nice.

Leslieannelevine · 16/04/2013 12:33

I love Gilbert. Gilbert Blythe!

Ideally I want classic and more mainstream but that compliments Ludo. It is so hard!

What about Ivan, Ivor or George?

So far on my short list I have

Henry
Nicholas
Edmund
Robert
Alexander
Hector
Edwin
Patrick

Oh PLEASE go for Gilbert. Such a great name. I love the nn Gil too, although know it's not to everyone's taste. Classic yet unusual.

It was one of the names on my list that received an early veto from DH. The man has no taste Angry

Another vote for
Monty (Montgomery) and
Fabian

BaronessBomburst · 17/04/2013 10:38

Yes, I love Fabian! What about Florian?

madoldbird · 17/04/2013 10:46

Alastair! My favourite boys name ( but despite 3 ds have not been able to use it Sad ).

Ludo and Alastair

I think from the suggestions so far Monty, Hector, Jasper, Tristan and Ivan best suit your brief. I love Ivan.

How about also Wyatt, Boyd, Piers, Gabriel. Agree another 'o' ending would be a bit much.

Except for Hector your list seems a bit safe - Edwin and Edmund are a little more unusual but both shorten to Ed, which I think you said you didn't like?

Leslieannelevine · 17/04/2013 18:01

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.I'll come back in 12 weeks and let you know what we pick.

I have an Edwin who sometimes gets called Ned. Do you prefer that to Ed if it does get shortened. I do not like Ed or Eddie either but think Ned is cool
