I have an Effie, Honor, Clemency and Noah. I like Manon and Merryn for girls but need more inspiration, have a love of Welsh and also Puritan names and have no idea what to call my baby if it turns out to be a boy! Help please!

Hmmm Primrose has reminded me that I really like Clover, but possibly too much like a name for a horse?

for one minute there, I thought that you were agreeing that Artex was a good name Grin

redhatnoknickers · 14/04/2013 00:46

I just went and scoured the local Dogs Trust pages for ideas and surprisingly there are some really good names on there!

Oh I was going to suggest Idriss. I was snuggling a newborn one last week and think it's fab.

I love loads of these names and have one of my own from your brood too.

I won't be having more so I think I may have to become some kind of crazy cat lady to use up all the names I love.

Actually - just checked the text I was sent about the newborn I was trying to steal holding and you are right TeamEdward - it is Idris for them.

I got them a copy of the Ivor the engine book with Idris the dragon in which they were pretty pleased with :)

BOF · 14/04/2013 15:16

Aneurin is good, I like that. Nye for short.

BOF · 14/04/2013 15:19

Yes, I'd go for that if I were naming a boy. It's Welsh, and it was Nye Bevan who gave us the wonderful NHS.

PrunellaDeVille · 14/04/2013 15:30

i recently had a Claude Hector, the rest of the shortlist contained:
Digby
Edgar
Enzo
Frank
Silas
Walter
Wilbur

I found this useful for my kind of names
