I know Sasha Obama is Natasha and also it could be short for Alexandra, but anything else? I love Sasha but not sure what full name should be or if Sasha could be stand alone.

Sasha can stand on its own but it's traditionally the nn from Alexandra/Alexander in Slav languages.

I've come across the name Sasha a number of times, but never as a short version of anything! You can use it as it is imo.

It's never occurred to me that it is short for anything. Lovely name.

MrsExcited · 26/03/2013 22:24

Natasha is lovely

in Russian Sasha is nickname for Alexandra or Alexandr

I'd go with Alexandra just because it's the standard full name for Sasha. And it's a beautiful name!

SleepyCatOnTheMat · 27/03/2013 18:15

Sasha can also be short for Saskia.
