We don't know the sex of baby yet.. So we have the girl name picked :) we just CANNOT agree on a boy name!
Partner likes Travis - I don't like it and can't see it as a 'baby name' if they makes sense?! Have agreed to use it as a middle name though.
We are having trouble with a first name.. Both like Dexter and Henry but not completely in love with them.. Just looking for some other suggestions to see if anything else jumps out at us?
Thanks!

What's the girls' name?

Must admit that I don't like Travis - sorry, Mort.
Jude?
Hector?

MoonHare · 17/03/2013 15:33

If you like surnamey, contemporary sounding names how about; Griffin, Bailey, Rafferty, Jonas, Leon, Luca, Harrison, Max, Ellis, Elliot.

WormCanner · 17/03/2013 15:52

"can't see it as a 'baby name'"

You aren't naming a baby. You are naming a person, who will grow up and become a child, a teenager and an adult.

NTMummy059 · 17/03/2013 17:55

Sorry not going to put the girl's name as lots of people will have negative things to say!
I like Jude and Harrison.. Thank you! Will suggest these to partner later :)
To wormcanner.. Yes they will grow to become a child, teenager and adult but they will also be a baby too and it's just my personal opinion I can't see myself calling a baby Travis that's all!

I dont think people would be negative about it here as you arent askig for an opinion on it - but it would help give an incline of the tyoes of names you like.

birdofthenorth · 17/03/2013 20:56

I really like Travis! And Henry, although they each have a very different feel. Dexter is nice but a but faddy, having a bit of a moment over the last few years and will date.

WormCanner · 17/03/2013 22:30

Travis/Dexter ..... Trevor.

There you go, sorted.

cityangel · 17/03/2013 22:41

Eason

pigletpower · 17/03/2013 22:45

We have a Dexter Miles aged 7, so pre TV series! Never met another one. Dexter is a great strong name. Good for baby through to adult.

poppydaisy · 18/03/2013 12:40

Travis makes a refreshing change from all the cutesy Alfie,Archie,Henry, Harry type names. But you've both got to love the name you choose!
How about
Tristan
Quentin
Darius
Whatever name you choose, it will BECOME your baby so don't worry about not being able to 'see' a name on a baby vs an adult - it will happen whatver name you choose. Good luck!

Northumberlandlass · 18/03/2013 12:45

If you prefer more surname type - two very traditional Northumbrian names (and I know 2 small children with them) Ridley and Charlton.

smallsmith · 18/03/2013 16:52

I like the name Travis but I know what you mean about it not being so easy for a baby! Good choice for a middle name.
How about Brandon, Carter, Evan, Ethan, Nathan, Owen, Liam, Lewis?
