German & Russian ??

We're planning baby #5 - I think I'm pregnant but too early for test.

I have 4 other dc, all with some sort of German name, as my dh is German and we'd like another German name but my mind is completely blank and some names I find hideous. For example; my mother-in-law wants to call the baby Gertrude if it's a girl - not happening!

However I'm half Russian and would like a Russian name. My dh doesn't mind, so I'm thinking Russian name, German middle name.

We can't use Greta, Fredrich, Dieter, Domeczek, Kellen.

Any suggestions? :)

I love this thread; it's reminded me of Elena, which I've added to my list of names.

Another vote for Tatiana, it's lovely.
A Nicolae would always remind me of the Romanian dictator Caecescu who was a wrong 'un so negative connotations to it for me.
I like Uriah, Jascha and Sevastian.

Anna

MamaBlue4 · 17/03/2013 20:31

starlightloz My father sugested Sevastian, yesterday, and to be honest, I'm falling in love with the name. My husband likes it too but prefers Aleksandr.

As for girls names, I'm liking Svetlana but may revert to German first names as I'm not keen on traditional Russian ones (sorry father!)
