I like willow and merryn. Hadley and brogan sound like boys names. Arr these for girls and boys?

BlueChampagne · 12/03/2013 12:43

Merryn for me too.

Willow36 · 12/03/2013 12:43

Elodie
Merryn

Brogan - sorry not for me. Tansy, not as keen on this as the rest. With that exception can picture a little girl with your other choices.

Willa makes a change from Willow.
Best of all I like Elodie, Alice and Ottilie.

ukfirestorm · 12/03/2013 13:46

Think we have got down to alice defintely being the middle name.
Any to rule out?

Hadley is my friend's cat's name, and he is named after a brand of mountain bike. So, maybe not that!

ZolaBuddleia · 12/03/2013 13:48

I only like:

Avery
Elodie
Merryn
Ottilie

ukfirestorm · 12/03/2013 14:03

Ottilie alice
Merryn alice, rosella Alice, or Elodie alice

TenthMuse · 12/03/2013 14:09

My choices would be:

Elodie - but increasingly popular and could well be the next Amelie
Merryn - gorgeous
Ottilie - lovely, but dislike nn Tilly. (Would go for Orly/Otty etc)
Tansy - pretty and unusual
Willa - feels classier than Willow somehow, and has nice literary link to Willa Cather (like Willow for a mn, though).

Alice works quite well as a mn to all of these, I think. Not keen on Brogan (just doesn't sound nice to my ears), Avery (birdcage connotations) and Heather (I see a middle-aged woman).

Another vote for Merryn, it's gorgeous and the best by a long shot!

I quite like Willow and Tansy too.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 12/03/2013 15:07

Of those three you mention, if Alice is to be a middle name, then Merryn Alice if your surname doesn't begin with D.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 12/03/2013 15:08

4 grr can't count!

ukfirestorm · 12/03/2013 16:01

so down to:

Ottilie alice,
Merryn alice
elodie alice

OP posts:
Leeds2 · 12/03/2013 16:36

I like 1) Alice 2)Ottilie 3) Merryn.

Hadley and Brogan sound like boys' names to me, so I would rule those two out straightaway!

ukfirestorm · 12/03/2013 17:07

fair enough, they are out.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/03/2013 19:12

Merryn Alice - but I like Alice better.

wiltingfast · 12/03/2013 19:16

I like

Tansey and Tresa

Best :)

Merrin but not merryn. No clue why!

whatagreatname · 12/03/2013 19:16

Ottilie and Willow are my favourites

wiltingfast · 12/03/2013 19:17
