Further to specialknickers' enthusiasm for Frances. Frances Perkins, first woman in FDR's Cabinet - and I did know that despite it being a reference in 'Dirty Dancing'!

Lilith - I know, I know, but it does remind me of a brand of sanitary protection. Sorry, that is not one for the sisterhood.

There was another Pankhurst sister - Adela.

My DH vetoed Christabel because it was 'silly' DD got Elizabeth as a middle name instead. Although Elizabeth I was no feminist.

Joan (of Ark)

SkylarWhite · 13/03/2013 10:51

Emmeline and Rosa are high up there if I ever have another girl.

Simone (de Beauvoir)?

telsa · 13/03/2013 11:47

Clara Zetkin
Alexandra Kollontai
Inessa Armand - real name Elisabeth-Inès Stéphane d'Herbenville
Claire Demar

Malala?

Xiaoxiong · 20/03/2013 13:43

Athena!

Lilith makes me think of Lilith Fair.

ZolaBuddleia · 20/03/2013 13:47

Is the pronunciation Affra or Ayfra? I've only ever seen it written down.

NordicNell · 12/07/2021 13:53

Clara Barton
Alma Söderhjelm

FlumpyPoodle · 12/07/2021 14:26

@MortifiedAdams

Juno always sounds to me like a name a staunch feminist would choose. Dont know why.

The mother off Mary Poppins was a suffragette - cant think of her name!

Mrs Banks.

That would be a great name for a baby Grin

TwoBlueFish · 12/07/2021 14:31

irresistibleoverwhelm · 12/07/2021 23:47

Artemis
Athena

and why not Hero!

hawkehurstgang · 12/07/2021 23:54

Lilith is a baby murdering demon in Jewish mythology 😳 maybe not that. Everyonr focused on the 'doesnt want to be Adam's wife' part and forgets the 'murders and eats loads of babies' part 😂

hawkehurstgang · 12/07/2021 23:56

Not really a feminist as much as a demon who hates all humans, women included. How about Harriet, after Harriet Tubman? I always think she was a strong female role model.

DalPalak · 13/07/2021 05:31

Magdalen Flowers

LewishamMum · 13/07/2021 09:18

If you're going biblical, then Judith is a rock ass feminist in the bible.

Or why not Caroline or Hillary? Not all feminists are dead or so old they might be!

LewishamMum · 13/07/2021 09:19

Got it.
You've got to name your baby Medusa.

Ellmau · 13/07/2021 18:33

Rosalind for Rosalind Franklin?
