Struggling am only 11 weeks so have time but we called ds Finlay as couldn't agree on any other boy names. ...
Ds gets called fin or finners and I think Id like a name that ends in "y" that can be shortened. .... I love Stanley dh does not! .... help greatfully received! :)

It doesn't end in a Y, but Finn and George sound good together.

Arthur --> Artie
Oliver --> Ollie
Zachary --> Zach

My friend is contemplating Finn/Finlay for her next son and has a son called Isaac. Another friend has a Fynn and a Harrison.

VonHerrBurton · 06/03/2013 15:01

Love Fin and Harry together :)

MrsMc82 · 06/03/2013 20:00

Thanks for the suggestions. .... already have a Harry in the family, our labrador!
Suggested changing the dog's name to barry and then using Harry for new baby but dh (perhaps quite rightly) said that's a bit odd!
I love Barnaby but dh says nope. ... Eddie, and Charlie are getting the nod tho :)
Any other ideas?

The (adult) Finlay I know has brother called Ralph.

Carolra · 08/03/2013 22:12

I know a Finlay and Huxley....

anonymosity · 08/03/2013 23:45

They don't end in "y" but they'd go, I think

Gillian
William
Francis (maybe...?)

MrsMc82 · 15/03/2013 20:05

Oooo love Rory and Francis. ....
Thinking doesn't need to end in y or an "y" sound. ...maybe just have plenty of shortening options. ....
Best friend has a William and their dog is Ralph which rules those out which is a shame. .....
Anyway other ideas gratefully received :)

I know a Finlay and Fergus. I also have a Fergus and he gets Ferg or Fergie. I love it - suits him and had lots of compliments on it. I have a Brodie too. But then they are Scots hence why Scots names.
