Patsy (though I think it's a bit too 'ee', 'ee' at the end of the names)

Marcia/Marsha

Blanche

Wilma

Jean (though, perhaps not with your surname... Miss Jean Brophy anyone?)

Betty Brophy is fab, but would take a bit of carrying off. Not sure it would work on a thumping great cart horse of a girl with perspiration issues. Grin

Grin @ Zola....well I'm quite a small build, as is my hubby (well tall & slim) so I don't think we have to worry about a big bulky dd Grin I'm glad to hear that. Some of you like Betty Brophy. I think a dd of mine could carry it off Wink

I like Betty with your surname!
Jeannie or Joannie and Betsy are good too.

I'd go for Betty Jean Brophy

I know two little Bettys and a Betsy, lovely names. I like all the short versions of Elizabeth and the advantage for your Dd is she can choose the one she likes best when she gets older. And so can you!

I love Betty. Fabulous name. Also like Peggy and Joan.

I would use Elizabeth and then have Betty as the nickname. Betty Brophy is tremendous. But then I like these types of names!

Perhaps spell it Bettie (like Ms Page) if you want it to be less matching with your surname?

Betsy jean Brophy is a cool name...

My nan was Beatrice, always known as Betty, you could have that as a full name rather than Elizabeth?

My choice would be Joany...but doesn't go with Brophy....Betty Brophy a bit of a mouthful, but mostly OK. I think you'd have to go with Elizabeth on the BC.

Martha Brophy is brilliant. The child would be an over achiever.

I like them both! I'd go with Elizabeth on the birth certificate though, to give her options. Or Beatrice.

My grandmother was Melba and her sister were Betty and Shirley. :)
