I can't think of a mide name for Séamus, any ideas?

Ds will be 5 weeks old when I take him to be registered on Friday but I can't think of a middle name for him.

His name is Séamus, his surname is common Irish (think The ___ Bunch)

I would like him to have 2 middle names as his brother does but am lost for ideas.

There aren't any family names I want to use, I've been considering Patrick but not because I particularly like it but because I can't think of anything else.

Any ideas?

James? Ian? George? Tomas? Finn?

HolidayArmadillo · 04/03/2013 12:45

Thomas even.

Patrick did spring to mind, but if you're not mad keen on it, how about:
Aidan
Brendan
Ciaran
Devlin

If it doesn't have to be Irish, how about Alexander, Michael or Laurence?

ThePigOfHappiness · 04/03/2013 12:47

Eoin?

AladdinOnRepeat · 04/03/2013 12:54

Séamus means James so it would be like having James James for a name (I do like James though)

My children's, nephew and brothers names have been mentioned Smile

It doesn't need to be Irish. I quite like Merlin Blush

What about Colm or Columba (if you're feeling brave!)?

milkand2sugars · 04/03/2013 13:09

Riley?

Here he is if anyone needs inspiration. I think I am going to put all suggested names in a hat and pick one at random as I just can't choose.

Joseph or Michael. Good, solid names that have always been well regarded in Ireland.

bridgetsmum · 04/03/2013 13:24

Aw, he's gorgeous.
Definitely a bit of Declan in there.

Congratulations Grin xx

Cwtchbach · 04/03/2013 14:07

Finnbar, Oisin, Donnacha, Ronan

Or something short like Jack or John

MackerelOfFact · 04/03/2013 14:09

For some reason, 'Claude' popped into my head.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/03/2013 14:14

Oisin
George
Eoin
Padraig
Eanna
Aiden
Cian
Michael
Sean

FireOverBabylon · 04/03/2013 14:14

Callum
Owen
Padraig if you're considering Patrick, to keep with the Irish spellings

blindworm · 04/03/2013 15:35

Alexander Patrick. I think they go well together.

Lafaminute · 04/03/2013 15:40

I would give him something unusual - my children have fairly ordinary names but unusual, even odd middle names. This is because while there might be other Mary Kelly's or James Smiths in their lives there'll only be one Mary Turnip Kelly or James Aduki Smith......

PeneloPeePitstop · 04/03/2013 15:43

Ruari

millymae · 04/03/2013 16:00

We all have very different ideas about this. I love the name Seamus but I'd have Paul as a second name and Alexander as his third. Seamus Paul Alexander sounds lovely with what I think is your surname.

gingerchick · 04/03/2013 16:04

Seamus Michael John

AladdinOnRepeat · 04/03/2013 16:14

Some lovely suggestions, I have four boys and their first and middle names have been suggested a few times on here - you all have good taste!

I really like Ruari. I wanted it as his first name but was over ruled.

Séamus something Ruari Surname

Or

One name down, one to go!

Seamus Austin Ruari
Seamus Ruari Kenneth
Seamus Ruari Ciar
Seamus Ruari Sean
Seamus Ruari Niall

Ginebra · 04/03/2013 16:32

Séamus Eoin flows well.
Andrew
Elliot

FireOverBabylon · 04/03/2013 16:32

Séamus Ruari Evan Surname

Séamus Ruari Amos Surname

not sure why, but I think it needs a name starting with a vowel.
