Ezma? EZMA??

You do realise that this is Ezma, don't you?

(OK, it's spelled slightly differently but it's pronounced the same!)

Sorry, I got no further than that...

Ur...that's a pretty horrid picture of what I assume is a cartoon character with a similar name...

It certainly not the only connotation though, and if I have no idea who it is,nor will a lot of people...

You don't have the Disney Channel then, Frigg? Yzma is a major character in the film The Emperor's New Groove (and the spin-off daily series Emperor's New School). That was a flattering picture of her.

Seriously. Don't call your child Ezma. :)

Luna and Myrtle are both Harry Potter characters with unfortunate nicknames "Looney" and "Moaning Myrtle" So I'd avoid those. And "Yula" and "Affery" don't sound like real names.
My favourites are Blythe and Clara.

Please don't call a boy Florian, Yule or Beauregard. And Rudi is too close to Rude.
Bertie, Jude and Rufus are fine.

FriggFRIGGisPoorlySick · 04/03/2013 09:08

Ezra isnt in my top ten anyhow...

Yula and Affery are real names, they all are.

Florian,Beauregard and Rudi however are quite near the top of the pile...I like them.

And I love Myrtle.

My favourites on your list are

Ariella, Vita, Coralie, Hera and Eliza - beautiful, feminine and underused!

Alden, Quentin, Ivo, Soren (one o) and Artan - strong, classic and underused!

I really dislike Rudi/Rudolpf due to the rude sound. Florian is very popular in Germany btw.

I've been liking Esau all day so just mentioned it to DH (we are searching for a name for a boy due in 10 weeks). He immediatly killed my love by saying it means "exceptionally hairy" and sounds like "eye sore". Oh well, back to the drawing board.
