When you're just not enthusiastic about any names....

When we had DD we just hit upon a name we both loved within 2 mins of discussing it very early on.

This time we know we're having a DS and at 30 wks we're still not close to any first name choices. There's just nothing that really jumps out at me, do I just settle for something I'm not that bothered with. I've almost given up. It was so easy with DD.

If you just settled on a name you weren't crazy about did it grow on you?

we couldn't agree on a name we loved but had a list of 14 that were nice enough but not 'the one'. When dd was born we went through the list and there was only one that suited her. Now we absolutely love it & think it's the best name in the world!

Thanks, good to hear, I think waiting til he's born sounds like a good plan. We have middle names (family names) so just the first name to go!

We couldn't agree on anything for DS1 so ended up picking a name which was "ok" but not in any way a favourite for either of us. It was the only one we said we could both live with. 5 years on it has completely grown on me and I think it's a lovely name. It really suits DS.

Poor DS2 got the thin end of the wedge because we really truly had used our one & only "ok" name for DS1 so DS2 had to have a name which we weren't at all bothered about, however it is perfect for him now (aged 3 - and we have always called him by the shorter version of his full name)

I was the same. Girls name all picked out at 16 weeks. Found out it was a boy and I was getting so stressed out over names. There was nothing I like and then a name just popped into my head that we both liked! Hopefully when little man arrives it will suit him!
