Can't decide if I like this idea or not! The girl name we like best for dc3 has the same initials as DD. Wondering whether to pick to a boy's name with the same initials as DS.

Keep thinking it would be so convenient for labelling uniform!

But possibly also awkward with mail etc.

I wouldn't use the same initials for a DS as my DH, as there is a distinct possibility with costs of housing etc that adult children will still live with you. And all post of importance got sent to home while at uni. So 2 Mr D Smiths could well get confused. But Miss or Mrs will distinguish the others. I would try to make sure middle initials were at least different, most official stuff uses them all. Equally it hardly matters, we get so little post other than junk now! So if the name is something you love, it wouldn't put me off really.

We really love the girl name we've picked so reluctant to change it. There aren't any alternate spellings, I don't think.

Darn baby names.

Could add an extra middle name though, so DD is MAS and DD2 would be MAES?

I know someone who has 3 dc, all begin with X and have the same amount of letters! I was a bit Hmm when I found out.

My grand parents, parents, brother (and soon to be SIL) and cousin all have the same initial (I don't mean just indivisual the couples - all 7 of them have the single same letter starting their names). Not been a massive problem so far although as they all, except the STBSIL, use the same Drs surgery and pharmacy has occasionally led to some mix ups. Doesn't help that my grandad, dad and brother all have the same name, as does someone not known to us who lives up the road (poor pharmacist Grin)

Mine have the same first initial but not middle.

My husband has all 3 initials the same ad his dad. They didn't think about it until the post got mixed up but no major issues.

My DSis and I had the same first initial and my two DBros and DDad shared a first initial too. Never bothered any of us at all.

My DH and DS's first names both begin with a K and again no problems so far. (we are obviously tasteless chavs from chavvy stock)
