Oh you two be quiet.

On another note, I love the name Rex, DH and i had just decided on it for the bump and I am mighty annoyed that a sleb has chosen it because it's popularity will skyrocket! Might go back to the drawing board on this one...

Wouldn't be my choice of name however my DS would love a sibling called Rex- he loves Rex from Toy story! Smile

I quite like it. I've never met a dog called Rex either.

However, I did google (because I am a saddo) and no dogs came up there either. The first result was a hotel chain.

I love it, but I have a nearly 2 year old called Rex, so I may be biased. It is definitely a love/hate name. I've decided to be flattered that Fearne has such good taste....

My grandad's Alsatian was called Rex. The name makes me think of Woodbines, working men's clubs and drinking Dandelion and Burdock out of a chipped Silver Jubilee mug.

Not a big fan of Rex to be honest...although think its because there was a Rex on Big Brother a few years ago, and he was a horrible person. It's that whole association thing. i don't like the name Rachel either because of a girl I was in school with! Smile

My best buddy has a 18 month old called Rex. It means 'Little King' - very cool, and hence why people used it for dogs. Years ago.

I like Rex too - although agree with squoosh that I'm surprised Fearne has chosen a name that I like so much.

I think Alexander Armstrong (who I like much more than Fearne) has one too.

I like Rex but I think of 'wrecks' so it's not for me!

I actually have come to realise that I love names that are 'supposed' to be dogs names.. My son is called Monty, my brother's called Toby, my nephew is called Rufus, best friends have sons called Rex, Wilbur, Max, Ned and Digby. All 'dog' names apparently!

Gunzroses, I guess nobody calls their dogs Rex anymore. they are probably all called sensible names like Matthew or Simon these days. The world has obviously gone mad.

Surely Ned is a horse's name...

I loved the name Rex, although my mum had a dog of the same name, but was put off it slightly a few years back when that short arse uppity bugger on Big Brother had it as his name Angry

I like it but Rex Rayne sounds just like Max Payne.

I grew up with a Rex, and he was gorgeous. Ahhh...

Also my dgm had a dog called Rex. I don't understand the whole "it's a dog's name" thing. Loads of people call their animals by "people" names. Unless you had a dog named Rex and then had a baby and called him Rex, it's really not an issue.

We wanted Rex for a DC but I was under the illusion that if I saved it, Id never get the chance to use it so we gave it to the Cat. Sad that I couldnt then use it for a boy.

Great name!
