Been strolling through recent discussions and can't see a mention of it.
One week away from eviction day and can't decide on names.

Love it. Met a recent one, great name for a baby and grows with them.

farmersdaugther · 17/02/2013 20:42

Do it, great name!

cookielove · 17/02/2013 20:45

Ahhhh a really cute little Rupert ran across my pathway yesterday, i love the name and boy was he a cutie pie Smile

PuffPants · 17/02/2013 20:48

I do like it but it does scream bear, doesn't it? Or Murdoch?

cookielove · 17/02/2013 20:52

PuffPants i didn't make either of those connections Blush

Branleuse · 17/02/2013 20:53

fabulous name

MarshaBrady · 17/02/2013 20:55

Love it, ds2's middle name.

ceramicunicorn · 17/02/2013 20:56

Love it

chocosaurus · 17/02/2013 21:04

DH thinks it's too poncy and queer sounding. I really like it but am one of those people who can't finally decide until I see him/her (we don't know the sex). DS1 was actually nameless for 4 days. Is anyone else like this?

Ruperts are usually posh or gay, or bears. Or all three Grin

chocosaurus · 17/02/2013 21:12

PhyllisDoris my DS just laughed when I read him your comment and said that's exactly what he thinksSad

Ha at gay posh bears. I love it. But am aware of its aura, probably why it's middle name.

Chavvytastic · 17/02/2013 21:17

I quite like it but i do think that Ruperts do generally suffer from stereotyping.

mrstowers · 17/02/2013 21:20

Yes awful gay posh bears name! Yak!

lucywiltshire · 17/02/2013 22:16

Rupert Campbell-Black - Jilly Cooper's most gorgeous male character so forget the fact there is a bear also called Rupert (no little kids will have heard of him will they?) and go for it. Love it!!

boxoftricks · 17/02/2013 22:29

Friend wanted Rupert. She went for Ruben in the end as she couldn't shake the bear.

deleted203 · 17/02/2013 22:32

Very posh. Depends where you live, I suppose. Any 'Rupert' round here would have the piss ripped out of him, I'm afraid.

BlingBubbles · 17/02/2013 22:33

I do like the name but I did immediately think of the bear Grin

OkayHazel · 17/02/2013 23:36

Rupert Grint is not gay, posh or a bear.

deleted203 · 17/02/2013 23:40

No...but he'd still have had the piss ripped out of him for his name if he lived round here.

OkayHazel · 17/02/2013 23:49

Then I'd be looking to move. 'Round here' sounds terrible.

germyrabbit · 17/02/2013 23:51

nor is rupert penry-jones

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 17/02/2013 23:53

My first thought was Rupert Giles from Buffy.

I really love it though!

PixelAteMyFace · 18/02/2013 00:10

I had a schoolfriend whose younger brother was called Rupert.

At home his nickname was Poo Grin

MidnightMasquerader · 18/02/2013 00:16

I think Rupert's on the up, amongst certain liberal circles.

Get in before the masses follow. Wink
