Or Matilda rose or OLivia lily? I like all combos but think matilda lily sounds lovley its just i am worried about her ending up being called tilly lily which sounds a bit..... Silly! Also rose is very pipular at the moment so not sure i really want to use it.... What do you think?

Matilda Rose gets my vote, I think it flows better iyswim ?

Ruprekt · 10/02/2013 10:37

Matilda Rose flows better in my opinion.

I might be tempted to add another middle name too after a relative.

So Matilda Emily Rose

or

Matilda ..... Rose

What is your Mum's name or Mil's name?

Eastpoint · 10/02/2013 10:40

Olivia Lily has too many 'l's IMHO. If you have a Matilda are you happy for her to be a Mattie or a Tilly?

Aspiemum2 · 10/02/2013 10:40

I think Olivia Rose is lovely Smile

I thought that too about the l's and i agree that matilda rose seems to flow best. I would rather her be called matilda but i know already that family will be calling her tilly and i can deal with that itd not a problem really. All our family members have crappy names that i wouldn't want to use, plus dd is not named after anyone so it wouldn't seem fair somehow. It's so hard we just can't decide. Dd had a name all the way through pregnancy but i am 3 days from due date and still can't decide this time.

My preference...

Matilda Rose
Matilda Lily
Olivia Rose
Olivia Lily - though find this one a bit of a mouthful

I really like Matilda, though like the nn Tilly too. I really don't like Mattie as a nn but then have never know a Matilda to be called that personally.
Mind I do like Olivia too - it is DD's middle name!
Lily is probably my least favourite of the names, but they are all pretty.

mamaLou13 · 10/02/2013 10:49

What about the Tilly Lily thing doesn't that just sound really stupid?

They are ALL very popular names.
Tilly lily would make me chuckle, but Lily is my favourite of all your choices. There are a lot of l's though....
Are these your only options? Or are you still considering other suggestions?

Merl0t · 10/02/2013 15:06

Olivia Rose

mamaLou13 · 10/02/2013 15:59

I would be open to more suggestions but we are quite set on one of those combos. I know they are all popular which is annoying as my dd's name is unusual with a popular middle name but to be honest they are the only names we really like. Olivia Rose seems to be getting the most likes here. Where i live neither Matilda or Olivia are popular but i am aware that they are gaining much popularity in other parts of the UK.

As a mum of a teen and 12yo I can say both have always had lots of Olivias in their classes and all shortend to Liv or Livvie/Livvy. However the only othe Olivia I know is 4yo.

I dont think Olivia is as popular as it was say 10 years ago.

I love the name Olivia and my youngest was very nearly one up until registration day when I had a change of mind.

Olivia Rose is beautiful and the best combo.

Matilda is not one of my faves but becoming more popular. All the Matildas I know have become Tilly.

Out of all your names I like Lily Rose best.
