DD3 was three,, but due to SN, had the mental development of a two year old. and came up with some inspired name choices when we had DS and wanted Flop, Fireman, Barney or Plinkaplonk. We suggested a compromise of Sam instead of Fireman but I was met with 'Sam not fireman Sam chinchilla .

Where she got that from, I don't know.

DD1 and 2 were five when I had DD3 and the names they suggested were Columbus, Oliver, Justin or Rory for a boy, and Emily, Hilary, Carla or Brooklyn for a girl. I can get Oliver, Rory and Justin, and Emily. Not sure where Hilary came from, and Carla was the childminder's friend. Brooklyn....I don't know where that came from.

They suggested Isadora, Ethel, Amelie, Jenna and Ruth for DS, and on finding out that he was a boy, River, Xayn (this was the spelling DD1 and 2 agreed on apparently), Wolf, Kasey and Peregrine.

Dd1 and 2 are now thirteen, and DD2 recently told me that she wants two children and will name them Raven Alexander and Susannah Wynter if a boy and a girl, but if she had two boys, Raven Alexander and Tyger Geoffrey Andreas, and two girls would be Susannah Wynter and Fallow Isabella Rae. Interesting name choices.

Suggestions here range from poopoodog, to twinkle, to percy, stepney or any other thomas character. They really do like the poopoodog though. Hmm

My other half is no better though, any baby name discussion just goes "What about Zadok? Milton? Tarquin? Farquhar?" - It's so hilarious I could punch him in the face!

Dd is apparently going to have 4 babies. They are going to be called January (no idea where that came from), Grace Dan (her friend), Tolly Robert (after her baby brother) and ..... Number 4. Even at 4 years old she recognises that it gets harder to name babies the more you have.Grin

When my dp's brother announced they were having a boy, my dd (3 at the time) asked what they were going to call him. I asked her what she thought would be a good name for a baby boy, her suggestion after much pondering was......Rosie!

Grin at Number 4.
We gave each of our children two middle names. By the time we got to our third son, we were starting to struggle a bit!

DD, 5 wants a brother called Hugo, and a sister called either Cindy or Angela! She herself has always wished her name was Sparkly Roses, and often cries about how unfair it is and will only answer to that and names all her soft toys it.

When I was 3 and my mum was pregnant with my little sister, I was adamant that she should be called Katherine. My mother wanted Lauren.

My sister is called Karen.

(I still like Katherine better than Lauren).

DD actually came up with some reasonable suggestions when I was pregnant, nothing outlandish at all .

SIL is pregnant at the moment, and DD wants her to call it Karen Cerise.

The only name DS1 could think of that he liked was his own name. At least I seem to have chosen well for him.

ds1 wanted to call ds2 'RoRo' - after his favourite song at the time - Row, row row your boats Grin

we used it as a bump name and when he was born for the first few weeks until we managed to chose a proper name for him on the last day we could possibly legally register him.

I got to be quite fond of the name and seriously thought about sticking it in as a second name or using Jethro as a nod towards it but dh vetoed it!

DS who was then just 4yo suggested 'Starfish Little' as a name for what was DD2. He said it would be fine for either a girl or a boy.

Some of these are really fab! DD (3) wanted to name DD2 'Tinkerbell' when she was born and was quite disappointed that we didn't go along with it...
