Need a boys name to go with Daniel and Nathan, I have Benjamin stuck in my head but DH has disallowed it due to many many pet dogs named Ben. Please help.

My initial thought was that it had to be benjamin, then I read your post. Tell your dh he is wrong about the dogs. :). I do not know any dogs called ben (except the one in that dreadful 1970s film, for the love of Benji).

(for the record there are lots of dogs called Sam. )

A neighbour has a Daniel and Nathan she also has a Matthew and a James.

What about Lewis or Adam?

I'm getting a semi-Biblical vibe to the names...

Both Daniel and Nathan are biblical names so you could just have a look through the Bible and see what boys names you like. In the future if you were to have a daughter you could do the same.

Speaking of biblical themes, I just love the name Noah, but it would mean you have 2 sons with N names and one without.
Would that matter?

I would pick a non rhyming name, different initial but keep with the biblical theme

So

Joshua, Jonah, Jacob, Joseph, Asher, Micah, Malachi (mal-a-k-eye not mal-a-key), Isaac, Ezra, James and so on (just some of my favourites).

What about Brody that would go with your other names

Report
colditz · 01/02/2013 13:55

You simply must go for old testement type names.

Report
colditz · 01/02/2013 13:58

Brody is Irish for "ditch"

If you like Ben but aren't allowed Benjamin, then how about Benedict?

Also like Matthew, James, Peter, Thomas and Samuel.
