What do you think? Never considered this until tonight and really not sure what I think of it. I seems that Talya is that traditional spelling (and I'm a bit of a stickler for these things) but the other spellings looks prettier to me.

Tahlia is my favourite spelling!!
Talya looks like it's pronounced Tal-Yarrr to me,
hope this helps

The usual spelling is Thalia so I would go for that. Don't like creative spellings that much.

I'm not a fan of creative spelling either but it's not a name I'm particularly familiar with. From the brief research I've done, the spellings I've suggested seem to be Hebrew with Talya being the original (not keen though) and Thalia (which I hadn't come across) is from Greek mythology. Glad you suggested that one narmada. It's really growing on me. Not my usual type of name at all - usually more of a 'Martha' type but feel like going a bit more unusual if we have a girl. Would you pronounce it with a 'T' at the beginning or a 'Th'?

Pronounced Th will sound like Failure! I like it but know one pronounced T'leeah which is just wrong.

Harrysmummysarah1 · 23/01/2013 06:56

Talia defiantly

scaevola · 23/01/2013 07:03

I would spell it Thalia.

The Greek etymology is the 'normal' European one, and the other variants may be interpreted as creative.

I only know it spelled as Talia, I know 2 (age 13 & 6).
