'Classic' names that work with a surname beginning with S

I'm not keen on trendy names at all - I much prefer traditional names such as James, Richard, Elizabeth, Rachel etc.

However I think that having a surname that begins with S is making choosing a name quite hard!

We don't know what we're having so would love suggestions for both girls and boys names.

My first thought was Elizabeth!

For girls, maybe Emily or Penelope? Boys maybe Edward or Frederick?

I like Elizabeth and it's a family name, but a v. close friend has called her dd that so no longer an option. Emily I like, and I like Fred too..

For boys I like Daniel, Jamie, (sadly Elliott is out as we have a DS named Joe and then it would sound like we are naming our DCs after the singer of Def Leppard!). Also like Laura for a girl and Maggie too.

For girls, I do actually like Ruby and Rita, although I think they are a bit trendy.
