Is anyone still surprised by the name they gave their DC?

What I mean is, do you still think to yourself 'I can't believe I have a DC called ...'

Did you get used to the name eventually and do you like the name in question?

A friend says she can't quite believe her DD has the name she does (although she does like her name) and was wondering how many others have had this thought.

I settled for a name rather than calling DD what I really wanted to. Unfortunately I backed myself into a corner by saying she wouldn't have a religious name. I love the name Elizabeth and Gloria. Both would have sounded shocking with her surname, but still...............................
Not Elizabeth, the NN Betty.

we went for a name that i would never have imagined calling my child. It begins with the same letter as our surname which was a big no no for me! It was the only name that suited her though and we absolutely love it now!

Dd's name still surprises me and she's nearly 3, we had a name in mind with 2 middle names if she was a girl, but when she was born she just wasn't that name, so after a bit of discussion we dropped the first name and just used the 2 middle names.

I still often think I can't believe she's got the name she's got, although it suits her completely and is a family name that I love, it just wasn't my first choice iyswim!
