Love Eliza Jane!

Ruprekt · 19/01/2013 22:16

Eliza Violet

Love Eliza.

NOT Frida.

Edith and Beatrice Eliza
Edith and Dulcie May
Edith and Clara Jane

ArthurandGeorge · 19/01/2013 22:20

Love Frida Emmeline! This jumps out as my favourite.

Also really like Eliza Violet and Ramona Jane.

I don't think the other combinations work as well, especially Frida Iris where I think the names run together a bit because of the vowel ending and start.

Haywire · 19/01/2013 22:23

I love the flow of Eliza Jane but can't get that nick cave/ Kyle song out of my head when I think of it or maybe a canal boat!

DH does not like Beatrice or Dulcie I do, love Clara but have friend with name so can't use.

Ditto Eliza Jane.

mathanxiety · 19/01/2013 22:29

I love, love, love Frida Emmeline and Frida Iris comes a close second.

I think Frida sounds fantastic with Edith (a really lovely name imo).

Good luck with the CS. Hope all goes well.

Pleasenomorepeppa · 19/01/2013 22:29

Eliza Violet.

Haywire · 19/01/2013 22:38

Thanks math will be relieved to get to thurs as have been in and out of hospital this week with high BP.

Frida seems to provoke strong reactions either way is after Frida kahlo and also my fav poem by ted Hughes full moon and little Frieda (dif spelling I know) Emmeline is Pankhurst that would be quite a combo to live up to though!

Violet has family connections and like the idea of both girls having a flower based middle name for some reason

Violet Eliza

Poppins27 · 19/01/2013 22:45

Eliza is such a lovely, pretty, feminine and slightly quirky name, I love it and it is definitely on my short list if I were to have another Dd...I also have a one syllable surname (not sure why I feel that matters?!)

I've not heard of Frida before, I do like it but to me it is more of a strong, less fussy name.

I do love the way Eliza and Edith sound together too... i envisage such lovely sisters :-)

bootsycollins · 19/01/2013 22:54

Eliza Violet

Eliza Jane

Ramona Jane

Ramona Violet

Love Eliza and Ramona but think Ramona sounds lovely with your other dd's name, they just chime nicely together.

mathanxiety · 20/01/2013 05:53

Frida Violet would be lovely too. But I love Emmeline and the Pankhurst connection is a big plus.

Allalonenow · 20/01/2013 06:09

Frida Emmeline is absolutely super, and Ramona Violet is lovely too so is a close second.
Hope all goes well for you on Thursday Haywire.

DharmaBumpkin · 20/01/2013 07:37

Love Eliza Jane! But I think Eliza Iris also flows quite well if you want a flower middle name.

BouncyPenguin · 20/01/2013 08:05

Love all your names. My niece is Edith Rosa. My DS1 would have been Ramona had he been a girl. Emmeline is lovely and reminds me of a character in Anne of Green Gables. Some people like giving their children names with the same initial eg Edith and Eliza. Personally I wanted to give my children names with different initials. I think it was for the same reason I gave them names that no one else I knew had. To give them their own identity. I know they will have this anyway so it's a bit of a silly concept of mine! But also had in mind that, as they grow older, when post arrives for them that we know who it is for without opening it first. But post usually has middle name initial too and again that's just me and not really a reason not to have choose lovely name.

Haywire · 20/01/2013 09:09

Yes have been pondering on the same initial thing myself. But do like Eliza and feel it sounds different enough to Edith as a name.

Glad people mainly like the name choices if we cant decide between them will have decide when we see herSmile

Eliza Violet

Violet will be my daughters middle name if I ever get bloody pregnant!

BoyMeetsWorld · 20/01/2013 10:24

Eliza Violet

Or how about
Violet Emmeline?

LadyLetch · 20/01/2013 10:34

Eliza is beautiful - I'd definitely choose that one. So pretty!

2monkeybums · 20/01/2013 11:15

Love Eliza Jane

pixiestix · 20/01/2013 11:23

LOVE Frida Emmeline, what an amazing name.

Eliza and Violet are so popular round here that they are starting to bring me out in hives so I'm not keen on any of those variations.

Ramona is a great name, really strong.

So my list would go

  1. Frida Emmeline
  2. Frida Iris
  3. Ramona Jane

Congratulations and hope your section goes well Thanks

Haywire · 20/01/2013 14:39

Thanks for the thoughts Eliza seems to be most popular amongst people on here but agree with pixie that along with Violet maybe it is a name gaining popularity generally. Does not bother me too much as we live in rural mid Wales so totally not popular around here!

I love Ramona for lots of reasons; the books, Scott pilgrim etc and it just sounds good but DH pointed out she will end up being called Mona or variations of which does not sound so good.

Ramona Jane is just fabulous!

NowPlayingZone · 20/01/2013 20:00

Ramona violet- and I'll be jealous of you for choosing it! Love it, love it, love it!
Eliza violet is second fave.

Iris1 · 20/01/2013 21:14

Eliza Violet is gorgeous. Two wonderful names.
Having said that if Frida means so much to you you should go for it. Although Freida is perhaps nicer.
Also I'd be wary of having two children with the same initials if you're considering a 3rd at some point? Edith is beautiful.
