What do you think of Ayla - or any other unusual names suggestions (girls!)

What do think of girls name Ayla (pronounced like Layla but without the 'L') - means Oak Tree.

I like unusual but simple names with a nice meaning (nature etc type thing) so welcome any other suggestions. for girls and boys (though we're more set that side of things I think!)

Outing myself completely but son is called Iden so it has to go with that.

I think Ayla is beautiful and goes really well with Iden :)

firawla · 09/01/2013 13:05

I like it, but when I first saw it just misread it as Alya (like aaliyah, alia) until i looked again so you might get that a few times but i think it is nice

If you can handle the association with Clan of the Cave Bear go for it, I actually think its a beautiful name

TigerFeet · 09/01/2013 13:12

I like it, I didn't know its meaning which is lovely too. I'm afraid my first thought would be the Clan of the Cave Bear series though :(

AlphaBeta2012 · 09/01/2013 13:13

I came across a Brady the other day and I thought it was a lovely name. Apparently it's Irish, well so she told me anyway. It helped that she was pretty.

Clan of the cave bear

AlphaBeta2012 · 09/01/2013 13:19

With Ayla (to be pronounced to sound like Layla) would you spell it as Ayla or Aila?
