We already have a Jon and need to name a brother.

We think we're down to either Thomas Vincent (Surname beginning with B) or Benjamin Vincent (Surname beginning with B). The Vincent bit is historical so just wondering about the first name really. We can't agree on any other names, I love William or Edward but DH says no!

I prefer Ben as it means ' youngest son' plus I've heard 'your John thomas' referred to as a name for a penis Grin and know I'd think of that if I heard you shouting your kids name in a park, etc
Also just love Ben, I wanted it but DH said no ...

onthemetro · 07/01/2013 12:52

I prefer Benjamin Vincent Smile

Oh and I LOVE Vincent ( more than Thomas or Benjamin !) it was my ggd's name ...

Wishfulmakeupping · 07/01/2013 12:58

Would you not use Vincent as a first name I love it

Namechangefornamethread · 07/01/2013 13:03

No Vincent can't be the first name, it's a family thing. I'd thought of the Jon Thomas thing too, but I suppose I'd be calling Jon Tom instead!

I prefer Benjamin.

I really like Vincent - would be a great first name.

Benjamin Vincent sounds better with Jon.

pinkandyellowbutterfly · 08/01/2013 00:43

Vincent's a great name. I've always loved it. Not my surname at all. ;-)

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/01/2013 00:48

I prefer Benjamin I think.

What does Ben sound like with your surname?

My DP has a four letter surname beginning with B. Benjamin sounds great,Ben emphatically does not. I only ask because people will call him Ben,even if you and DH do not.

ILoveSaladReallyIDo · 08/01/2013 00:51

I prefer Thomas, Benjamin and Ben always sounded a bit wet to me

3smellysocks · 09/01/2013 00:05

Jon and Tom - sound too similar sorry

atthewelles · 09/01/2013 11:33

I'm a bit sick of the name Ben. I prefer Tom.

meditrina · 09/01/2013 11:39

"Jon, Thomas!" will invite sniggers (whichever way round you call them, others are bound to see it the penis way): "Jon, Tom!" is too near a rhyme.

I'd go for Ben.

CPtart · 09/01/2013 12:04

Benjamin definitely. Love William and Edward too.
