So life is stressful right now. I'm heavily pregnant, will be moving house soon, have two kids at home on summer holidays and they're driving me nuts and now DH decides he doesn't like the names Jarvis or Kit. Plus it'll be 37 degrees on Tuesday.

Can you please name my third son? Pick just one name that you would think is absolutely perfect with his brother's names of Felix and Theodore.

Parameters:

  • Nothing in the top ten (I know Theo and Felix are popular in the UK - not so here in Australia)
  • looking for something quirky but familiar - nothing predictable like William or Sebastian
  • Use Jarvis and Kit as your guide

Just one name. If we end up going with it, I'll send you a present all the way from Australia. I have 8 weeks until baby son #3 is born - please help! :)

Re kickass nicknames for Benedict, the only Benedict I know is known as Ben and I'm not sure that any other diminutives are very convincing. Dix, perhaps?

bananaramma · 06/01/2013 23:09

I'd avoid similar sounding names (e.g. those ending in X or O) but think that

Felix, Theo and Arthur
Felix, Theo and Quinn
Felix, Theo and Rory

all sound great together. Good luck.

Lucian? Lucien?

stickygingerbread · 08/01/2013 15:52

Oh my goodness, I love your names.

I recently tried to talk my sister into using Christopher/Kit as a nick, but she went with Richard when my nephew was born 2 weeks ago. I love Kit as a nick - to me it evokes a classic masculine man of action & brains.

Can you sneak it past dh by proposing Christopher?

Some other of my favorites:

Magnus
Marcus
Lucas
Lucius
Casimir
Aaron
Finn (got another nevvy named Finn)
Roger
Edgar
Edward
