She looks like she would suit a robust name, iykwim? I like:

Matilda
Theodora
Tabitha

Which do you prefer? Ideas for middle names welcomes! Would like a short middle name!

Thank you so much - we are struggling!

Theodora Jane

nannyof3 · 05/01/2013 18:37

Tabitha jean

Nannyof3- Matilda Rose is the name of my DD. Love it. Good choice ;)

orangepudding · 05/01/2013 18:47

Most girls at the moment seem to have either Rose or May/Mai as a middle name so I would avoid both of them!

Grange · 05/01/2013 18:52

If I like a name it wouldn't bother me at all if it was ubiquitous. Go with what you feel suits her.
Congratulations BTW

BardOfBarking · 05/01/2013 19:01

Tabitha Rae - no contest.

Right. Think I am almost sold on Theodora as a first name!

Theodora Rose?
Theodora Grace?
Theodora Bo/Beau?
Thoedora Belle?
Thordora Rae?

Agatha Grace

I have a Matilda but if I hadn't used that I really like Cordelia with nn Dilly.

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 06/01/2013 00:55

Matilda Eloise

Theodore Roosevelt - nah

Tabitha - definitely gives me a twitchy nose Xmas Grin

Of course she's your adorable DD, so you get to choose, but Matilda Eloise is what you should choose!!

If I have another DD she will be Elinor.

MyLittleAprilSunshine · 06/01/2013 01:04

Madeline
Theora

Out of yours Theodora Rae sounds best :)

Congrats!

Lollybrolly · 06/01/2013 01:13

Theodora Rose gets my vote

Alisvolatpropiis · 06/01/2013 01:15

Theodora Grace.

I had never even considered this name until recently. Robbie Williams is in no way still famous enough to have an impact on people using the name imo.

I've recently warmed to Theodora a great deal.

GanglyGiraffe · 06/01/2013 01:18

Theodora, love it!

williaminajetfighter · 06/01/2013 01:20

Matilda! Mt six year olds name and still love it. Goes by Tilda or Tildy.

Love Tabitha and was our second choice (so good taste OP!) but not great if you have a lisp!

I love the name Pearl and
Matilda Pearl sounds a great combo!

Or call her Winter. Cute! Smile

AuntyAnna · 06/01/2013 01:21

I like Theodora nickname Thea :)
Theodora Anne is nice do you have any family names you would like to use?
Theodore Willa, Theodora Ruby, Theodora Fay, Theodora June, Theodora Letty.

If you want some cool strong names that are quite strong mythic Greek goddess types I have known both an Elletra and a Medea. Both fabby names.

louisianablue2000 · 06/01/2013 01:40

Love Theodora, I spent an entire episode of Graham Norton (the one with Robbie Williams on it obviously) raving about the name. A very classy and strong name.

delilah88 · 06/01/2013 16:19

What about Tabitha Elodie?
I think that sounds good.

PepsiCoco · 06/01/2013 16:20

Matilda. It was my name for DD but she was a DS!

booklava · 06/01/2013 16:27

Like Tabitha, was going to have Matilda for DD1 but found Matya instead which is so unusual (don't know any other) so she is Matya Kate nn Matty

SE13Mummy · 06/01/2013 23:16

All three are lovely but, assuming your DD1 has the name I think she does I think the 'ma' in Matilda may make for more mix-ups than will occur with a different sounding name.

I know a Theodora who is known as Thea - it's a great name. However, Theodora Belle sounds a bit like 'the adorable' (which I've no doubt your baby DD is) so I'd avoid that combination.

Does DD1 have any good ideas for middle names?

Just in case you're not yet sold on Theodora and need more suggestions, how about Imogen, Harriet, Naomi, Miriam, Felicity, Freya or Hannah? Or even Talitha if you like Tabitha but not the twitching!
