I know someone called Elise she is a musician, is beautiful and very clever. Also rather good company.

I too think of Für Elise by Beethoven. Will you pronounce it the German way (Eh-lee-seh)?

Lotus

I once wrote a story where the baddie was called Elise. She was pretty and sassy and very clever. But not clever enough to come out on top. (not much help to you though)

I think it's a very pretty name.

My cousin is called it ( she's 12) and I haven't met any others. It makes me think of chalets on the alps!

It's a beautiful name. I think of the car, but that's OK because it's a lovely little thing!
I would have used it for my DD but it's similar to my sister's name.

Elise was a very courageous girl in that story. I think it is a lovely name.

One of the weirdest and most annoying people I ever knew was called Elise. It has put me off forever, although I am sure it is a perfectly nice name to everyone else.
