I can't decide if it's a good idea or not.

I like it, but I'm a bit of a Vampire Diaries fan plus I always had a soft spot for the much derided Damien too.

Mylittlepuds · 23/12/2012 20:42

No. The film is too disturbing. Have you seen it? Watch it first.

Shattereddreams · 23/12/2012 20:43

I think it's a bit out of vogue that's all. All old grandad names are back in fashion now.
I would position Damon with names of the 70's. so you need to wait a bit longer for it to be considered normal. Sadly it's a resounding NO from me

Mylittlepuds · 23/12/2012 20:43

Oh God I thought you'd said Damien! Sorry! Not sure on Damon still.

nannyof3 · 23/12/2012 20:44

No

peanutMD · 23/12/2012 20:49

I like Damon, most importantly though do you like it?

HidingfromHousework · 23/12/2012 21:13

I like it a lot but i've never come acRoss another one and i wondered if it was too odd. I'm thinking a 'normal' middle name so he can use that if he decides he wants to because his mother has no taste Grin

Arithmeticulous · 23/12/2012 21:17

I'd think Damon Hill Grin Er, even though that's a good thing, I'm not sure it's one for a comeback.
Where do you stand on Darius?

HidingfromHousework · 23/12/2012 21:42

oh no don't like Darius. It doesn't grab me.

AndBingoWasHisNameOh · 23/12/2012 21:56

No for me I'm afraid.

sausagesandwich34 · 23/12/2012 21:58

I know 2 damons

one late 40s the other early 20s so if you follow that cycle it's due a come back Grin

I quite like the name but both spend their entire lives saying 'no not Damien, Damon!'

NigellasGuest · 23/12/2012 21:59

makes me think of Damon Albarn and I'm a big fan, so it's a resounding YES from me!

Francagoestohollywood · 23/12/2012 22:03

Yes, just because like Nigella, makes me think of Damon Albarn, who is gorgeous Grin

Mu1berryBush · 23/12/2012 22:04

I like it.

SweetMingePie · 23/12/2012 22:06

When I see Damon I instantly think Damon Albarn from Blur. It's a nice name.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 23/12/2012 22:07

Damon from Blur. Yes.

BendyBobsBrusselsSprouts · 23/12/2012 22:08

I always think Damon/Damien sounds like demonConfused

ornellaia · 23/12/2012 22:09

I know a 5 year old Damon, it's not my favourite name but there's nothing wrong with it. And it makes me think of Damon Albarn from Blur too, which is no bad thing.

Ummofumbridge · 23/12/2012 22:11

My DS bf is Damon and he's 16.
I also know a 14 yo one.
I don't love it or hate it. There's nothing wrong with it IMO so use it if you love it!

Ummofumbridge · 23/12/2012 22:11

Bf as in best friend btw

Svrider · 23/12/2012 22:12

I would think of the omen

hmm the damien mix ups would wear thin. I like the fact that it's unusual but not too weird. My other favourite was a singer related name and i discounted it for that reason seemed a bit sad/peculiar. Confused

It's fine. I have taught 3 Damons in my career and all of them were clever, handsome and a bit cheeky. :)
